From everyone's experience. Please let me know how at what miles did you have to replace your clutch master and slave cylinders? Is this a common or rare repair? What brand parts did you use? Thanks, Mike

18 years and 150,000+ mi. Original clutch master and slave cylinders.
Many fluid changes, maintenance is key with hydraulic systems because brake fluid is Hygroscopic.
    What color is your fluid?

Thanks for your reply, 2009 base Tacoma, the fluid doesn't look dirty, it's a yellowish color..

I have a 2006 Tacoma SR5 2.7L with RWD and standard transmission that I bought new in June of 2006.

At about 48,000 miles the clutch stuck to the floor while I was in the dealers parking lot for a recall. Couldn't move it. Dealer repaired it under warranty. I don't know if the slave cylinder was replaced but I think it was. I don't think the master cylinder was replaced.

At around 56,000 miles the clutch master cylinder failed. Out of warranty so repaired by our very trustworthy local repair guy.

At 104,000 slave cylinder failed. Our local repair guy fixed it plus replaced the clutch parts with ones much better than factory. Master cylinder I believe was OK.

I'm at 135,000 now and I do not have good feelings about the clutch. I'm thinking I might buy a new Tacoma. When either solenoid fails, your screwed and have to be towed. As in not driving it anywhere.

Be nice to hear from other owners.

    Hope this helps.
