You must be playing Part II. I played a bit more tonight. Still enjoying it.

 

I find just as many cheaters on console as PC. It'll only get worse with console and PC using basically the same hardware and API in the near future.

It also depends on the game. Some games are rife with cheaters and others not so much.

 

I only play Destiny 2. During D1 the only issue was either someone trying to DDoS your account in Trials or running a lag switch. Neither of those two issues affect the console version anymore as far as Destiny is concerned. Now... on the PC version? Fuck that... Bungie has put a few new efforts in place but in Trials? It's still pretty rampant. It's just a fuck ton easier to cheat on PC than it is on Console. I've not had any issue running any Trials card because of cheating on the PS4 but I've known many cards get ruined on PC because of aimbots, wall hacks, DDoS attacks, fully automatic snipers, unlimited revives, etc... That is one reason I'll continue to play on console so I don't have to put up with any of that.

All on PC in Destiny 2 in Trails. This can't happen on console which is why I'll continue to play on console.

Completely fair. I just remember the days of COD and BF3 cheating on console like those were yesterday lol. I've never touched Destiny nor do I intend to. I am debating which next Gen console to get though and possibly a new LG OLED to go with it. Decisions lol.

 

I'm going to grab the PS5 just because that's where all my friends play. I think the difference between both consoles will be much like it was at the beginning of the current console generation when I started this thread. Each system is good and the both have their strengths but neither stands out so much that it is a huge difference between them both. So you'll end up buying the one that the vast majority of your friends play on. I'm looking forward to the new PS5 and I'm also looking forward to buying another Ultra Wide monitor. Now I just need to decide which one that I'd like to have once I get the new system.

 

Did they confirm resolutions past 16:9 are supported?

 

Not sure how many different aspect ratios will be available on the PS5 but the PS4 has no issue running 21:9. I've got a 34" Samsung 4K UHD Ultra Wide Monitor and it runs Destiny 2 and Gran Turismo with no issues at all. I do know the PS5 will support up to 8K at 144hz. Not sure what the new Xbox will support?

Yeah the Xbox is pushing the same support. Really they're just quoting the HDMI 2.1 standard maximum and not what the hardware is actually capable of IRL.

 

Saw that a month or so ago. That would piss me off to no end.

 

I cheated gta 5 online so hard on console back in the day, you can cheat on console its just not as easy as downloading a script on pc

 

continuing to progress through LoU 2 and I still struggle to see why it got such bad reviews and is hated on....maybe I'm not there yet...

Not sure how far you are into the game but I know where it is that I completely lost any desire to play the game. I think a normal playthrough is around 25hrs so it's longer than TLoU. So it might be a little while before you come up to the parts that would piss me off. It's hard to talk about it without giving any spoilers. I just hate how they treated this game. Once you come to it... I think you'll know what I'm talking about.

I hate I know as I really didn't want any spoilers. I hate that they got leaked and they never should have been. I truly felt sorry for Naughty Dog when that happened. Once they pulled all of their shit, started shutting down youtube channels that were only discussing the story and not the leaks, the way they treated their employees, they way they handled the game and it's storyline, and the way that the mainstream gaming media seemed strangely silent? Fuck Naughty Dog after that.

I did my best to stay away, but the leaks bled over into one of the Destiny 2 videos that I was watching and then the huge controversy surrounding Naughty Dog. After seeing what they were pulling I finally got fed up and looked at the entire story. After that, I was done. I wish they would have never made a second one. I'm sure the game looks beautiful and the pacing is still great. But I know exactly what happens and I hate it. Not only that but Naughty Dog as a company can suck a dick. Once all the information came out on how they conducted themselves, treated their employees, unlawfully used DMCA as a way to shut down creators on youtube, how they later had to reinstate those videos that were affected but the damage was done to those channels, and the way they treated the storyline (which is the hardest part to not talk about).

I don't know how you'll feel after finishing the game? You may love it, you may hate it, or you may feel ambivalent about it. I just know that it was the best game that I had ever played in my life and you truly had an emotional attachment to the characters in the game. The way they have treated this game? They should have never made another one and just left the first one to stand alone as the best game that has ever been made. Don't you find it a bit ironic that all the major game sites are giving the game almost perfect scores but almost every other gaming site that isn't tied to a corporation are destroying the game?

Angry Joe said it best. If you are surprised by this game and the direction they took, "you are either willfully ignorant or a dumbass". You'll see once you get there.
