Learning values.. they are sort of calculated values based on preset table values for given rpms/load/speed,etc.. and applied correction to ( temps, sensor feedback, etc).
I would skip it. I did not reset LVs and the truck drives the same after 500 miles

I accidently skipped it and the trucks been driving great for about a week now with 2.0 . I was just curious if I should/need to go back and reset those values or not now

No, resetting values, especially tranny, will make your driving miserable for 200 miles.
There is no need to reset, unless you have some issue with the idle.

They are stored values from sensors and driver inputs. The ECU uses these to learn and control the engine and transmission based on inputs. Everything from air temp to throttle to info from previous drives. Clearing them lets the various ECUs learn and adapt to current conditions and your particular inputs.

ECU learning can suck at times, but I believe that OVT has minimized that as much as he could.

I had never bothered with resetting learned values until I flashed the latest tune, and I've flashed a LOT of OV tune versions to my truck. I have to say that my truck has never run better, and I attribute a large portion of that to clearing out the crap.

As Tonered mentioned, the truck will drive a bit wonky for 5-10 minutes, so don't think the new tune sucks, just get out there and drive the truck like you plan to drive it every day.

Someone please double check my logic. Once you purchase VF Tuner, the process is as follows:

    1. After purchasing, wait a few days for OV to send you the VF Tuner installation file and master key.
    2. Install VF Tuner on computer
    3. Using VF Tuner, obtain your vehicles system ID
    4. E-mail your system ID to OV
    5. Wait a few days for registration file to be sent from OV (where I’m currently at)
    6. Install registration file on computer
    7. Using VF Tuner, obtain your vehicles calibration file
    8. E-mail your calibration file to OV
    9. Wait a few days for folder containing your stock tune to be sent from OV
    10. You can now begin flashing tunes to your vehicle.

    Is this correct?

Once you’ve got the Reg file (step 4), you dont need to send anything.

The stock vehicle files are in vF. If you want the tune packs, you have to request them (currently only MT are available)

2.0 tunes are available in FM for the MT or the links in the blog post while you wait for AT tune packs.

    Edit: just realized your numbering goes 1 2 3 4 3 4
The second step 4 is what I referred to

The Resets did a few good things on my Taco the first time that I did them.

I am not sure how beneficial they are after the first time, esp with a noted improvement, but I'm a slight OCD type.

LOL I was editing steps and didn't realize I messed that up.

I am still very confused about the status of AT tune packs. I hear the 2.0 AT tune packs are ready, I hear the 2.0 AT tune packs are not ready, I hear the 2.0 AT tune packs are ready except don't contain gear lock (I don't even know what that is)... I know for me that this is one of the most unclear aspects to this whole process. I'm left wondering
-What is the status of these tune packs?
-What is the difference between them?
-What is the timeline until "2.0 final" is released since it's apparently not ready even though users on here say it is?
-If the only thing missing from the 2.0 AT tune packs is gear lock can I use what's currently available and then simply re-flash to the "2.0 final" when that comes out?
-Why would I wait for "2.0 final" instead of just using what currently available if it's only missing gear lock?

The full version non-Beta 2.0 tunes are released for the ATs as non-editable, encrypted P5F files. They do not have GL, Performance, or Tow features yet. This was just to appease haters.

AT Tune Packs (editable VFT files) are not released yet.

I think the confusion comes from the terminology and some people saying one thing when the mean another

vF tuner utilizes .vft files. This are files that you can edit and modify within vF tuner. It comes with the stock files and the Tune Packs give you the 2.0 files as .vft files so you can either flash them as is or modify them using them as a starting point instead of having to start with the stock tune for your modifications.

When you buy the tune pack, you also get access to flash manager and p5f / toyflash . This is the “old” method of flashing and what was previously the flash kit.

The 2.0 tune packs are currently only released for the MT.

2.0 Final has been out for the MT for a while. For the AT, a version was released just recently (p5f files) but it does not contain gear lock. A version containing gear lock will be available at some point.

You can change tunes whenever you want. Run the current 2.0 now, update to the gearlock tune when it’s available, modify and create your own tune when the tune packs are released.

Some of my biggest confusion came from runmc's signature that says is big red letters "2.0 final AT is here"... when it's not actually here. It also doesn't help that when I go to the OV Tune website, I can't even find the blog section that he provided a link to. It's like there's hidden areas to the OV Tune website that are only available if you know the url name.

I also can't find any description of these features (gear lock, performance, tow features) on the OV Tune website. When I navigate to the FAQ section the link appears to be broken as it just takes you to page that says "DO NOT DELETE, unless you know what you are doing"

2.0 final is here. Like I said, it is a full version, not partial Beta files. It is proving good on many Tacos.

The 2.0 AT tunes are at the bottom of the OVT homepage.

The 2.0 notes are not released yet. Old info is here:
    https://www.ovtuned.com/blogs/news

Basically, Base is base and just everyday goodness. Performance is MOAR! Tow will be similar to SFOB on the MTs, which is mainly atkinson cycle delete.

Some of the website stuff is being redone.
