    Okay. So I decided to same some money and use my LOC that I already have from my old car and tap into the factory wiring harness. I think I’m going to hook up to the rear speaker wires which are (please correct me if I’m wrong):

    (Black plug harness)
    Red = Rear Right Pos
    White = Rear Right Neg
    Black = Rear Left Pos
    Yellow = Rear Left Neg

    The only other wire color I need but am not sure of is the Switched 12v wire so I can tap that for my remote on/off for my amp. Is that the grey wire on the grey plug harness?

    Sorry for so many dumb questions you guys!

    Tap the front speakers and thank me later

    Switched 12v is over in the main harness (grey 28-pin) so you’re looking for a very thin grey wire in pin 15. Should be middle row, 1 spot in from the side. That is the radio’s accessory wire that gets power on and off with the truck. If your amp does any weird backfeeding or anything from the remote input, it will send power to this wire and keep the radio on even if the truck is off. Just keep an eye out for that during your install.

    Or, in a better scenario, grab switched power at the cig lighter. It will be pretty easily accessible while the dash is apart.

    Hello,

    Hope you guys are doing well. I am new to the forum here. I am sorry if this has been asked before elsewhere on this forum, but what is black connector in the first picture called. I am trying to build a T Harness for my wife’s 2020 4Runner to install an amp. Thank you so much. I will get a nice amp for my Tacoma hopefully by end of the year. Thank you for your input.

    So has anyone confirmed that the harness is changed in the 2020 years? I am in the need or a harness.. The last one I used was from Ta c tunes and it worked extremely well in the 2015 truck I had before. Looking to score another one for the 2020. I did use the recurve in the last build and it worked out well. Would like to keep the existing setup as much as possible.
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks @Destin and @tekmat.. Destin - I ordered the Sub box I showed you earlier.. I also changed gears and am going to go with the 2 10's from Rockford ..the Power T1S2 shallow version. I also have the 4 gauge wire kit on order. I finished the sound deadening in the back of the cab the other night. I also ordered the harness from T Tunes.. now that I saw what the termination looks like I'll know if it is indeed a new part they are carrying.. They say 10 day delivery time for the harness so we shall see.

    On a final note.. what are the options for rear door speakers? I'd like to stay in the Focal line if at all possible. I was looking at the focal 165 AC but according to crutchfield they don't fit in the rear doors. Is it just due to not having an included spacer involved? What is the max depth or other mounting concerns for the rear doors?

    Thanks

    I’m pretty sure Crutchfield has the wrong measurement for the doors in their system. Looking the Kicker KS line that I have, they say the 6.75” won’t fit in the rear door because the tweeter sticks out too much. I have personally co firmed that they do fit (because they’re in my truck lol) and have ⅛”-¼” space between the tweeter and the door panel. I see no reason the vocals you’re looking at wouldn’t fit as well

    @destin_meeks Thank you for that confirmation. Now working on sound deadening the doors. Hopefully the 4 gauge amp wire kits comes in this week as well. I'll have to wait for the sub box so I can see how things line up as far as mounting the amps and DPS on the same back board if there is room and seat clearance for it to latch. Last part will be ordering the subs. and the 2nd amp.

    Could someone help me with this please (2020 TRD Pro, Non-JBL)?

    1. The 4 wires coming from the head unit going to the amp need to be soldered on to the Pioneer amp speaker level input harness. Grouping the wires 1:2 should work out signal-wise, right? 1 Front positive: 2 Front positives, etc.

    2. How do I connect the 3 items I circled? I feel like I have to use speed wire (no remote needed). Another TT harness would have 4 wires coming from the amp output bridged, so that seems to be too much RMS for 18 gauge wire. I've read a hundred pages to be able to DIY my system upgrade, but, on this, I'm so lost.

    (To be more accurate, the 4 TT wires connect directly into the female TT harness.)

    You can get the TRD PRO without the JBL system??

    The connectors on those harness get cut off and then you connect/solder the wires to whatever your connecting. If your amp is fancy and has a hi/low built it they it gets connected to the hi input. Also you have to get an amp that can turn on with with a radio signal because those harness don’t have remote wires. Spent way to much on JBL amp that had it all and would fit behind the seat.

    It has high/low speaker level input. The amp turns on with the radio. They don't even offer JBL for 2020 TRD Pro M/T apparently. No worries, I wouldn't want it. I think my build will be better and cheaper.

    Ohhhhh. So instead of buying Metra 70-1765 and 71-1765 (which some people on here said didn't work on 2020s, idk), people just buy the TT harness.

    I can cut off the 4 wires from the TT harness leading to the amp and discard. The female and male harness has 8 wires in between them. Cut it in the middle.

    Headunit>male TT harness>speedwire>Pioneer speaker level input harness>amp (8 wires all the way through)

    Amp>speedwire>female TT harness>factory male harness that leads to door speakers (8 wires all the way through)
    Amp>10 gauge wire>sub

    Right?

    Mine had two sets of wires. One clipped into the harness and then into another harness behind the radio. It was a pass through so I didn’t have to re-run speaker wire
    To the doors. The second run of wire was enough for all 5 channels (or four) and then don’t use the sub. I ran a 5 channel amp so I bi-passed all of the sound from the radio. Are you just putting in sub or running a full 4/5 channel amp?
