Something else I forgot to mention. often times, the rider makes a big difference. but to have just one bike, 140 or 150 is a really good spot to be in. But it also depends on the bike.

 

Hate to break the news to you - but the bike is not a limiting factor in most cases. More travel is just more margin for error

 

totally agree with you. hence why I mentioned my buddy on the horsethief on downhill parks. rider is oftentimes the bigger determining factor.

but it allows those of us who can't physically handle the whole trail, to be able to sit down and rest and take some taint taps a bit more comfortably lol

ah, so you know how great lower black was? fast, smooth but technical, wonderful even in the dog pissing rain?

well if/when you return do not let @Bannerman tell you that Bennett Gap is just like it, because that is as far from the truth as it can be...

 

I try not to talk about it, but I'm the biggest Office fan there is. So this makes me happier than you know.

 

TBH, I vaguely remember that weekend. Good riding, but fuzzy on the finer trail details now since that was a year and a half ago.

I really only remember getting done, meeting a buddy at Archetype Brewing for their halloween party and going home with a chick dressed as Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

well I'm glad lol. I thought it was pretty funny. About as funny as your "it's just like lower black" joke.

 

Archetype is like 100 yards from my place in Asheville, bartender the other day got REAL fussy when I showed up without a mask.

 

well, and I know you're a better rider than I am, but this is a warning to you...that he will in fact lie to you...and Bennett is absolutely nothing like Lower Black.

 

That and the pizza place next door was a great combo. Waiting like an hour and a half for a donut from the hole...not so much.

 

Pizza Mind, really good. I dont like the Hole except for their Beignets, they are amazing.
