sounds like you could use a tune up then and the fuel filter is easy to do on the V6. New spark plugs/wires, fuel filter, air filter, clean the MAF, etc.

I always though of it like the farm States where the government pays you to farm. Except with meth.

I installed mine by myself...but I did have a transmission floor jack, which really made it a breeze. Just took it slow and adjusted the angles on the jack plate and she lined up... bit of a jiggle back and forth and she was close enough to start all the bolts and sucked right in after. That being said, I put the transfer case on after which I wager makes a big difference also.

With the right tools, patience and proper lubrication (for the mechanic), I'd say you should be fine. You should have seen me install the front diff alone, looked quite silly I'd recon but we got it done!

is this on your 02? If so, maybe check this out: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/bad-throttle-lag.163262/page-2 post #21

My 03 auto has done similar to what you describe and I have to do this at least once or twice a year to get it to go away. I also had a coil go bad as well at one point, took about a week for that to get bad enough to through a CEL to scan

Man I really like what you have going on here. When my AT goes I’ll be going manual for sure. If you ever need a hand or don’t mind someone being nosey about your build, I’d like to see it 1st hand in progress.

Yes they are, trust me it's true. I was there once, on hippie Hill, before heroine Hill.

I unfortunately have XL size hands. Always wish I had baby hands at the end of Manute Bol arms (when working on the truck or car).

If you have any, some of that electrical connections cleaner works wonders for that stuff. I mean depends on how bad it is to start with. But I've had luck with being liberal with that and a nylon brush / pipe cleaner for about 2 mins and then can get the connection off.

Also if you have a 90 degree pick tool, using that to put more direct pressure on the tab that releases it often is a game changer.

I've got short fat arms/hands. Perfect for rough tasks, terrible for tight spaces. When I swapped mine luckily a buddie stopped by with long skinny arms, he made short work of all the connections above the trans. I did the grunt work pulling it.

Not at all mate, it just struck me as funny. As long as people can understand what you're getting at, that's all that matters IMO. I have a very corporate job and have to be proper all day at work, not fussed about shit here lol.

Fingers crossed for ya man, hope you can get those disconnected!
