Crickey though. That is a list. You definitely have the play areas to get full use of that stuff.

Definitely! The OEM shity OR skid is already beat up. Those rockers make me nervous!

Of course I had to get the @RayRRW diy sliders that seem always be "one day away" from shipping :argue:

I got to squirrel away some funds for a better skid, some sliders, and a tank skid. Thankfully, no serious damage yet. Just some scrapes on the fuel tank and a light scratch on the left rocker.

If my garage was set up how I wanted, I'd make my own skids. Nothing a grinder and welder couldn't solve. There's not really anything complex until you get the the transfer case.

Plasma cutter and a welder would be killer. It would be money saved in the end. Those are not even possible with our current setup.

Just a good front skid would work for me. I was hung up on the tiny stock T case skid and it worked perfectly. We'll see what I run into down the road, but I would probably avoid that situation in the future.

I said it a couple days ago. Unloading on a newbie asking a naive question is gonna go bad. Rolling on a real troll / shitpost, like the dumbo mirror thread, is different.

This Old Tony has me drooling for one. I haven't touched a welder or torch since HS. It was freaking enjoyable though. Learning to hot glue aluminum together would be the shit.

A friend helped weld a plate onto my old motorcycle so I could carry a bike. It was freaking neato and survived a not at fault t-boner.

So, the initial issues with the 5.4l 2 valve was insufficient thread depth in the head, causing the spark plugs to blow out if they weren’t tightened down enough.
They fixed this with the new heads of the 5.4l 3V, but in doing so ran into the opposite problem - the plug design allowed carbon to build up on the cylinder side between the porcelain and the head, causing it to stick, and the two piece design of the plug meant often the spark plugs would break on removal.
i was taught to let the 3V get real hot before removing any plugs, seemed to help.
Ford made special tools to correct both issues, as you can imagine.

Haha ToT rules. I feel like I'm on the spectrum, because once I got fascinated with Welding aluminum, all I would do is practice Welding on scrap. Went through pounds and pounds of aluminum filler, just to get slightly proficient. I miss it.

I ate it all up and I don't do a lick of machining either. Between him and AvE, I'm in stitches.

It looks like it takes a ton of work to get AL right. It would be perfect for what I need for armor thought.

    Keep at it!

ToT does some pretty good work, but if u wanna watch a true master, look up rob renzity, I think his channel is robrenz. Dude is a fucking MASTER, his attention to detail is insane.

Aluminum isn't really that hard, once u know what's going on it's pretty easy. Motor skills are the hardest part and having the patience to do the correct prep.
