No. I just prefer working from home and they agreed to let me do it.
Cases are spiking here again though and 90% of our customers aren't wearing masks so I want to get out of here before it does happen.

It reminds me of the time they started making people wear seat belts, or wearing helmets. There were alot of people that just refused

    Just wear it.

I don't get it, is it really a hardship to wear a mask when you think of all the negative potential if not. Just because someone said to is a reason to push back?? In our area the thought here is the whole thing is a hoax so no need to consider others health - I get harassed every time I go someplace for wearing a mask - really what do they care - idiots that will make this worse before we can get a handle on it.

Yes, I know about it. Still doesn't make it right for everyone not to be responsible. There was an event here where no one wore masks or practiced social distancing and now there are new cases - just sayin. I prefer to to try and be respective and responsible no reason to be harassed, that is my right as it it theirs to not wear them. Why do you think your state is on the rise with new cases?

I'm going to play devil's advocate. So, just who is the mask for? I hear it's for my protection and I hear it's for the protection of others. If people who have it wear a mask, fine. I get that. But if they have it wth are they doing out in public? And, if it's for my protection, why the hell are the public health officials pushing the lowest, minimal standard of protection that has enough absorbing qualities to hold the virus up against your mouth and nose? And if it's to slow the spread, why is there a rise in numbers in areas where masks were deemed mandatory?

FWIW, I just got in 5 new masks.

Personally, I think people are grasping and using it as a pacifier. This thing isn't going away.

I wear a N95, had a box of them in my wood shop, these are the same surgeons wear. I wear it for my protection, you are right if they have it why are they out but there are those that have it and don't know it - bad mojo.. Unfortunately I am a member of the high risk club. So if someone doesn't want to wear one OK but be respectful of those that choose to - that's all.

You are right, this isn't going away anytime soon and just because a state is making it 'mandatory' doesn't mean it is being followed ;^)

I get the N95, but that's not what public health officials are recommending. In fact, quite the opposite. Officials want those saved for medical personnel and you don't see any medical people on television wearing them. And I think you, I and a few hundred handfuls of others are probably the only people that have them.

At least at my wife's hospital the only ones wearing N95 masks are the ones working directly with Covid-19 patients. The rest just wear cloth masks like normal.
They just had a protest a few days ago because they are making them wear the same N95 mask for the whole day instead of each patient. Luckily Rema works with stroke patients so they are kept separated from the covid unit.

A cloth mask won't help if you are face to face with someone who is contagious but it is better than nothing in a casual setting.

Because people can be asymptomatic they can spread it and not know they have it. That is the problem with this virus. Normally, you feel sick and you stay at home. Here you can have it right now and not know it.
So the mask is to SLOW the spread not stop it. That way the hospitals can handle the cases. New York overwhelmed the hospitals and people died because there was not enough room. California hasn't had a spike so we will have a longer infection period.

    If people wear a mask.

N95 will also protect you, but the main thing is to protect others

So, if I'm asymptomatic, I'm suppose to keep huffing this crap and not get a decent oxygen exchange through a substandard mask that's saturated?

I'm just throwing this out there.

My solution is I'm fortunate enough to have all the safe distance I want. Of course that all changes the minute I get home to my wife...who works in a grocery store.

well then its obvious that he doesn't leave the polls up long enough for the right people to vote!
