    Hey TacoWorld,

Looking for a side step for my 2020 double cab short bed that is functional (works well as a step I'm 5'8"), protects from door dings, won't rust (Boston winters), good looking and flat like Cali Raised Rock Sliders, and under $1k shipped to Boston.

I'm a bit overwhelmed by the amount of manufactures and design types.

So, what do y'all think are my best options?

    Thanks!!

I feel like any of the main manufacturers of sliders would be good, and just go with whatever is cheaper or local-ish pick up. Also note even flat sliders make okay steps, they work but aren't the best since your foot will basically be up at the door anyways. I personally have alot of RCI armor, mainly because they're available for local pick up.

I have RCI too and they were under 1k shipped bare steel.

    I forgot about this

    https://truckbrigade.com/

Check them out. They have a buncha stuff and offer free shipping somehow. I got the remainder of my RCI skids there because I didn't have time to drive to pick up at RCI directly and it was free shipping. May also work on sliders.

Are you looking for a step? Or are you looking for sliders? Aluminum nerf bars are cheap. I have an extra set (OEM Toyota Aluminum) if you’re interested, they won’t rust. Sliders on the other hand are meant for protecting rocker panels. Heavy duty and made of steel (DOM usually). They will rust without proper maintenance.

Check out @Mobtown Offroad, they’re not too far from you from what I remember, and probably one of the highest quality bolt on sliders for our trucks. If you go pick them up they’ll definitely be under a grand.

This is what I'm not looking forward to...In a few more months I will have to pull them off and see if any rust is forming :(

Lmaoooo!!!!! The way things are looking with the current low pressure fuel pump recall and COVID-19. Toyota doesn’t give two turds right now about anything.

That tends to happen with high quality, high demand products...

Or, you order from a company with high demand, high quality products, and massive state of the art facility. And wait 4 weeks. Go with RCI. Not saying Mobbtown doesn't put out great stuff but it's just a couple of dudes banging it out.

I took a piss in their lobby bathroom. Felt like I was in a god damn luxury hotel! And you know what they say...you can 100% judge a business on how nice their lobby bathrooms are.

I haven't seen it in a while I just remember needing to pee after that drive, thinking it would be like your typical shop bathroom (plan, old, greasy residue off employee hands), and was pleasantly surprised. Surprised there wasn't a dude in there handing out mints and hand lotion

If you don't NEED sliders, then I like the OEM Predator steps.

TBH, I ain't going off roading anytime soon. So I guess I'm leaning towards a good looking set of steps (running boards?) Aluminium! Soft, no? Interested in your Aluminum set!

I didn't use the restroom but I did get to go in some bays. It was glorious.
