I'm just 300 miles in, but I'm experiencing that same issue on 04B30_Premium_33_Thx. Some of the hills where it downshifts to 4th (confirmed via ODBFusion) are not very long or steep at all, so it's definitely something I will continue to watch. If it doesn't settle and change behavior after 500 miles, I plan to switch to a non-THX tune and see what happens.

If you plan on using ECT more than the odd time, the @MESO stealth shift knob is a must have. No fumbling for the button. I’m a big fan of this mod ‘cause it’s slick and easy to install and wonder how I got along before.

    A little plug for @MESO
as if he needs it. :)

I know it's hard to keep up with all of the changing versions/info, but it's implied in this screenshot of the download page that there is no performance or tow mode via S mode or ECT. I bet it was easier for him to code the 2.0 final and release it without changing anything else (to shut some of the haters up), and then go back to incorporate gearlock and performance maps in the future.

I do indeed have it, which is why it was hard not to use it. Especially after habit haha.

500 on the thx version 200 on the non thx. Can't believe how different the last 2.0 the the latest 2.0 is when going up hills. The rest of the tune on both versions are great.

keep us posted, i am on a similar tune 04B31, premium, 33thx, and finding the same thing. wondering if the more sensitive throttle positions, are forcing downshifts, to keep "the power on". cant wait for gear lock, and the tow map options. love the tune, throttle response, just still bugged by the hunting trans gears, even on relatively flat ground. I'm thinking different bad. The downshift to 4th at the slightest incline like a freeway overpass is completely unnecessary and annoying. Previous tune with the startup issue did not do this. Other than the start up issue it was perfect imo.

Just wondering if this happens with cruise control on? I’m not finding that same behaviour on mine unless I really push down on the gas. If I give it a little light gas it downshifts to 5 from 6 which is fine with me. (89oct 35 THX)

ECT is back as ECT. It definitely helps with towing. Smooth as hell

So it's normal ECT just not performance or tow, gear lock etc?

Good to now, i haven't even tried it. I'll be towing my Trailer tommorrow on 04b31 5.29 Premium 33" non thx and will give it a shot. I just assumed by the verbage on the ovtune website where you download the tune that it didn't do anything.

Yep. Because gearlock was selective adoption
