Definitely not cheaping out, they are fine. I have them and enjoy the ride. BUT if you are just a year away from being able to afford 6112s then why not wait? Instead of buying 5100s just to buy new suspension in a year, if you waited that money could bring the wait time down to maybe 8 months or something +/- months if that makes sense.

If anything, figure out what you want, shop around and buy stuff as good/sales prices come about. Maybe some will have a July4 sale, others a labor day, etc.

*To note, I totally get the desire to lift it up in the mean time.*

6112/5160’s are literally 4x the cost of 5100’s.

The stock SR suspension sucked balls, I imagine the Sports aren’t much better. The shocks were under damped from new, and the rear springs are too soft. New shocks and an AAL are worth doing now and redoing in a year or two to get off the terrible stock shocks.

I'm at 5/6 perches and a little over 2". Not enough caster and the steering is very twitchy.

Another option to toss out there is to go with the suspension of your choice and put on some 255/85s using your stock rims. I have really liked that tire size. Was planning on 285s, but these have been fantastic and I may stay with 255s. Only rubbing was on mud flaps with no cutting. Narrow 33s may not get your insta likes, but they perform really well.

I haven't seen any alignment sheets at 2-3" with stock UCAs that look in spec to say for sure, but people just saying they aren't needed until close to 3" has not convinced me. My caster is .6ish on both sides and camber is about 1.2. I had it aligned twice as the first time, they didn't torque the cam bolts past 20 ft/lbs and my alignment was off the first day when I did some light off road driving. I can do a lot of things on a vehicle, but alignments was not something I ever learned, so I am going by the results of the shops and assuming they aren't terrible at their job. All assumptions though.

That wasn't a dig at anyone, my personal experience just differs from that statement and I have not seen proof that others actually have a good alignment and not just assuming that it is ok because they don't notice it.
