Like I said, my G502 is rock solid. It runs a 3700U. Slower than an i7 from it's generation but faster than the i5 it was priced against at the time.

Like Aggie said, the rumors are saying September announcement for an October release.

It also sounds like we will see a 3080, 3080Ti, Titan A, and some other unknown variant of the same die. If you're looking to spend less than $600 on a card, like a 3060 or 3070, then those cards probably won't drop until 2021.

RDNA2 cards will also drop around the same time as the 30 series. Good chance we will see something that can run with those cards for less money.

I'm currently looking at the 2070super.

That one there in fact. Running in a 570 with a ryzen 5 3600x. Just tryin to see if prices will drop enough where I wish I would of waited or not. I'm just getting back into the PC world it's been about 5 years since my last build.

Honestly I would hold off on the Super and maybe just go with a 2070 or a 2060 KO for the time being, still great performance. The reason I’m saying to hold off is you save a good $100 - $150, and 3000 are expected very soon which means the used market will be prime to resell your 2070 or 2060 KO and not loose much, and be ready for the 3000 when they do come, that’s if you can’t wait.

Thats the route i went, got a 2070 super EVGA FTW3 from all the videos and reviews i saw they basically said 2070 super was the best performance for price graphics card you can get. But then again the 3 series are coming out so maybe wait and see what the pricing will be like and how they will affect the price and demand for the 2 series cards.

If talking about only nvidia yes, but the 5700xt is now pretty much even in performance with the 2070s and is $100 cheaper

I buy both. I buy whoever is giving me what I want. Honestly I don't get the nVidia fanboi comments anymore. The drivers for the 20 series have been hot garbage for me and a lot of 2080Ti owners. We have $1k cards that stumble which is unacceptable. I still have problems with my 2080Ti in certain games almost three years after launch. After playing a bit of Elite today I'm done with nVidia if AMD can match them next round.

All in good fun competition is always good for us consumers. Glad AMD took intel off that high chair. They were getting to comfortable anyways. Hopefully AMD catches up in the graphics department which im sure they will considering the next gen consoles will all come with AMD chipsets?

Console doesn’t matter since last gen consoles were AMD based too. They need something that can compete with top end nvidia which hopefully knocks them down a couple notches from their pricing

Do you need a 3000 series for Rocket League? ;)

Are the 5700XT's still hot cards? Like temp wise?

 I waited for the Sterdog comment and definitely replied :)

Don't mind Sterdog. He's an AMD fan boi

I think the only 5700 xt cards that ran hot were the reference cards as they were blower style. The red devil and sapphire cards are the best from what I’ve researched

@Sterdog - What difference would running two different sized fans do? 120mm vs 140mm

    Front (intake) - 2 x 140mm Fractal (stock) fans [Fractal Design Dynamic GP-14 140mm @ 1,000 rpm]
    Rear (exhaust) - 1 x 120mm Noctua fan

I want to add a top exhaust fan but should I just buy 2 x 140mm fans and rear the 120mm Noctua fan? I don't care about color so I'm fine with the Noctua fans.

Noctua NF-P14s or 2 more Fractal fans?

Yes please! Wish you weren't West Coast so you would be on around the time I'm on lol

I read that the Asus models weren't screwed tight enough causing high temps (90C+).

Not all fans are created equal.

If comparing two fans with the exact same design then it's simple math. [IMG]. So a 120 mm fan has roughly 11,304 mm of push area and a 140 mm fan has 15,386 mm of push area. Of course that doesn't count the motor area but that would actually favor the 140 mm even more. That means a 120 mm fan, assuming everything else is equal, would move 36% less air than a 140mm fan.

Back to not all fans are created equal though it's best to compare two things. First, CFM, and second the fan performance under pressure load. I say compare CFM under pressure because I'm guessing those fans have to push that air through a grill of some sort, which will increase backpressure a bit. Look up the fractal model number and compare to the Noctua.

Last thing, running two intake fans and three outtake fans is a bit of a faux pas. It leads to "negative" pressure in the case, meaning more air is being drawn out than the front fans can supply. Under this scenario you'll see a lot more dust in the front filters and potentially inside the case. It's not an exact science, but it's usually better to move more air into the case with fans than is leaving the case with fans. So one matching Noctua may be the way to go, unless the Noctuas move too much air.
