How'd you choose a lift?

Wanted a stiffer ride so I went with a mild lift just because. Mild meaning ~1.5 overall keeping factory rake.

 

I hate to say it but I used Tacoma world. I did not plan on running the Baja 1000 or the Firecracker 400 so don't need thousands in reservoir kings or foxes. But, het if you are a techno weenie, those look really good at the mall. I ended up with Eibach pro truck and could not be happier for 600 bucks. That and a 75 dollar Wheelers AAL. I only wanted an inch and half or so and to counteract the weight of my winch and front bumper.

 

Not sure why anybody would buy a Tacoma to drive at malls
it gets 18mpg
and is not very easy to drive
the power steering requires more effort than passenger cars, and so on.
typically people buy them because they live in rough ground areas and it's to use on that

body on frame
tall springs
solid rear
iron parts
4x4
big heavy tires
high ground clearance
Not sure what that has to do with a mall
sounds like a vehicle specifically designed for off road

maybe a simple lift would do the trick for now. Bilstein 500 up front with OME non-armor springs,
and different leaf pack in rear or AAL, maybe U-bolt flip

The stock Taco is already too stiff, and stiff ride means shit technology springs and shocks. High quality coilovers tend to handle and ride better.
You'd think that with taller springs, they should be softer and thus able to absorb more energy and make the ride better.
But cheap parts are probably so crappy that even with height, they still don't.
Vs a more expensive part with better design

certain performance trucks can slam into a curb at 60mph and you won't feel it
They also cost $300k-$1m

 

"Mall crawler" is said on Tacoma World often, is just a phrase for a lifted Tacoma for looks and does not go offroad. Which is ok.
