This is so close. If I can get spotify to work with Alexa I'll be happy.

The fix for me was update the firmware on the headunit and now Alexa opens so fast and doesn't have issues connecting to my phone.

    13TDANNA-DA11_0158

Check the form at toyota-4runner for details a quick google search will come up with the kwi file on that form and you'll be so happy. I just need to find 160.kwi now to see if that's even better

What were you before? My truck is 13tdanna-da21. Wonder which is newer?

Does anyone have an Alexa device that can play spotify? Mine won't play spotify and wouldn't do pandora either. After hooking up to a speaker at home that does pandora it now works in my car. I don't have one that will do spotify though. Wondering if that will fix my spotify issues?

I have Alexa enabled speaker, Spotify works on that, but won’t work on Entune. Wonder if it’s on purpose that they have disabled Spotify from working in the truck unit.

That's real dumb. When I try the Alexa app on my Iphone I get the same error message about Spotify there. It may be an issue with the Alexa app. That skill has horrible ratings.

I may need to try an update. It just get me smoother performance I assume?

I noticed a bigger difference when using the Version 146 from the Downloads site. But then, Version 158 has worked well with even latest OS updates on my phone, so there is that.

It doesn't look like there are any updates for your model on the site yet.

We are different model numbers, so it is hard to really say?

For some reason the Spotify skill doesn't work on the Alexa app on my iPhone. I went ahead and disabled it and re-enabled, still doesn't work. I even made it my 'default' music service, but nothing. The reviews on the skill are pretty bad, a lot of people complaining that it doesn't work on their device (They get the same: Spotify is not supported on this device). I have a echo dots and an echo show in my home and the Spotify skill works there with no issue.

I then tried the Pandora skill on the iPhone app and I get "Pandora is not supported on this device", but when I try it in my truck, Pandora plays with no issue on Entune. Weird.

Really appreciate this, thought I was on the latest per the Toyota download site. Got this downloaded and installed. Just had to format my usb drive to FAT32 to get it to recognize. NTFS and exFat did not work.

I'd much rather have Android Auto. But that being said I am very grateful and happy Toyota pushed out this update. I've always been a Google Assistant guy and haven't messed around with Alexa before. Still learning what I can do with it and am impressed so far. I'm thrilled with how easy it is to tell it to take me somewhere and it actually finds the right place and sends it to Entune as a saved destination. We can finally set a destination verbally using normal speaking patterns. Thank you Toyota!! I don't totally hate my head unit anymore!

Just figured out how to connect my email account and calendar to Alexa. It'll now read my my emails and tell me what's on my calendar while driving. Pretty cool.

Some more tricks here for other Alexa novices. You have to put the Alexa app on your phone to set this up.

I hate to sound like an idiot here, but.... I've got all the updates and Alexa works great.
That being said, I no longer have any audio options - everything goes to Alexa. I'd appreciate being able to listen to SXM again, or even FM. Anything related to audio simply defaults to Alexa and I don't see any way to push her aside.
I HAVE to be missing something somewhere.....

Exactly the same for me. At least Alexa will still respond when you're listening to Spotify on Bluetooth.

Hit the source button on the Alexa screen or the audio button on the head unit. You can pick in there.

Not working for me. If I push the Audio button, I just get a full screen Alexa. I have no Source button anywhere. Same happens if I press Audio in the Apps menu, just a big Alexa screen. I'm thinking that maybe the update didn't go correctly? Everything else works tho

Same here. As soon as I use Alexa, it takes over the audio options, and the only way to get them back is to restart the head unit.

I had the same issue. Hit the audio button twice and you’ll get back to the selection screen

When music is playing you should have a source button also.

What does that button just to the right of the source button do?
