Canaan Loop was the toughest part I was on. I was in a stock truck and made it without any issues except hitting my factory step boards a couple times.

I’m getting laid off tomorrow because my industry tanked because of Covid.

Anyone up for a couple days of exploration next week?!

I’m in commercial construction. Our main clients are the local Universities and office space. Both sectors are not spending!

Ill try and find your taco and park next to you haha. My MTB is down for the count right now but Ima try and get some road riding in.

Just a day loop to check what I routed.

My goal is a giant loop through PA OH VA and WV. Basically the MABDR in PA then hit the TET to the TWVT back up then a transition route back to Tiaoga.

so. just got back not too long ago from my day trip...very satisfied with what i have laid out thus far.

started out today in sarver and made it to driftwood. didnt get to compete my route. will def take around 10 hours to complete.

woman talked me into take the grocery getter :D

    IMG_7323.jpg IMG_7325.jpg IMG_7326.jpg

    so why driftwood?

    IMG_7328.jpg IMG_7329.jpg

just outside of driftwood we got stuck behind a wheeling mini van...yes i shit you not this toyota mini van was somehow beboping on this rough forestry road....was going super slow and some how i managed to get a flat. road wasnt super gnarly by anymeans. all the roads till this point were 2 wheel drive.

anyhow. got a flat that wasnt repairable. put the spare on and headed home. tire is still in the back of the 4runner and will have to get one monday.

was between 60-70% dirt up to this point. roads also got more remote and rougher.

Damn, how did you manage to get a flat like that? That's crazy! Happy to hear the rest of the route was nice! was it all clam gravel or was there some fun dirt stuff?

the thought crossed my mind, but no i didnt get any of the mini van. that being said; you cant make this shit up. :notsure:

i honestly hove no clue. there were a good bit of rocks in the road we got a flat on, but nothing i wouldnt hesitate to drive right over. it looks to me like i got a puncture and it ripped. most of the roads were gravel south of benezette. north were mostly dirt. the road we got the flat on was pretty fun actually. lots of water holes and a beat dirt road. we got the flat coming off the mountain.

id like to go back up this week and pick up where i left of to finish scouting the route. i marked places where i think camping is feasible and your able to do so. i have no clue if you would be able to make it from up there to ohio in one day. i may have to add some bypasses to make it doable. not much free camping down this way.

@PlatinumCloud let me know when youre going to VA and WV. Ill join you. Also check out the app OnXOffroad. Its like Gaia, but you can see trails, and choose ohv and 4x4 roads only. I they give you a 2 week trial, and then you have to pay $30/year. I feel like its a good investment

I just did some exploration of the forestry trails up here near Johnstown in Winber. They lead to some seriously beautiful scenery!
