Try making your 45 cuts on the very end of the piece then measure (or mark) back to your square cut. Some saws have clearance issues with the blade guard but sometimes you can make it work that way. And some saws have better clearance when swung one way than when swung the other. Also a coping saw for inside miters will solve that issue. Any compound miter saw can make 45deg cuts laying flat.

And if anyone is interested went to Mass and Vt last week to hit some trails and camp. Wheeling was epic tho cut short seeing one of two trails planned due to left late and getting through sections of trail were difficult. Heading to camp in Vt and went to spend time at a known spot around a big pond to chill and fish with my dog but the sites were closed due to Rona... We found a primitive spot nearby and made camp for the night. Next morning we left camp and found more of a variety of free camp sites and logged the locations. All in all good trip getting out of Jersey.

This happened with one of our work trucks and our boss does not want to spend a lot to fix it...What's the easiest/cheapest way to replace/fix this? Do you have to replace the whole leaf pack? Appreciate any input and response!
