What hotel would not let you bring in a bike? No way I’m leaving my bike locked up outside. I wouldn’t even leave it locked up in a camper shell

One of the YouTubers had their locked van busted into last year, took all his bikes and gear.

Honestly, two years and over 2K of hard enduro miles and traveling in a bike bag to Europe, the frame still looks new. It sucks to put on, but works so damn well.

I think I will worry more about frame protection on my next bike. I have the tape on the downtube and bottom bracket on my bike but that's it. got nicks/scratches in a bunch of places I would've never guessed. Is RideWrapped a brand?

That would help with scuffs but not going to hold up against rocks, I caught a rock the other day that ripped a hole in the molded rubber downtube protector. Not saying the RideWrapped isnt worth it, but it'll only do so much.

wow 35$ for essential is not bad!

edit: wait that's the bottom line one...saw the colors wrong...

95$ for tailored to your specific frame. guess that's not awful?

The stuff is pretty burly. It’s not gonna prevent all damage, but will minimize or eliminate enough to justify its use in my opinion. $100 and a few hours labor is cheap insurance for an expensive frame.

I agree, once I move on to another bike I will probably invest in that.

It’s the biggest pain in the ass to apply and you’ll say swear words never thought of before by mankind, but once it’s done it is worth it.

I didn’t find it to be as bad as I expected. Not saying it was easy, but I wouldn’t hesitate to do it again. Mine isn’t perfect, but from 6ft away any imperfections are hardly noticeable. The wrap is still 100% functional despite the amateur application.

Modern ovals are not the same as biopace. Same concept, but they dorked up the timing of the Biopace ovality and gave a bunch of people knee problems.

mine stretched in some places and the gaps are weird. Creased in strange places, I was trying to mess with it to fix it and finally I just put my bike back together and rode it. I’ll replace it if I have to in the future

That’s actually why I like the ovals. I’ve got a jank knee that’s due for another rebuild. My knees feel less strained post rides with the oval chain ring. Could be placebo affect as my usage hours are still relatively low with the oval.
