MUST BE NICE. I was going to dump in a few bucks soon but I decided instead (last night a few beers in) that I'm going to make a road trip instead so that's now being diverted to gasoline :)

It won't hit $6 for at least 2 weeks. Too many issues. Oil prices should be going up quite a bit because its the summer, but fewer people are traveling. This also means people are using their A/C more at home, so more electricity, not oil.

I hear PG&E is issuing $4bil worth of shares. It might be a good time to jump on that rickety boat... :rofl:o_O

Yahtzee. I'm thinking, hoping, we'll get news after the 4th that more people traveled than expected so oil actually goes up because of that. But overall, yeah it'll be a while before oil goes back up, especially with SA/RUS working it. Though that seems to have calmed down a bit now.

Just posted in the New England BS thread a few hours ago, I decided last night a few beers in, I'm taking a road trip for two weeks in July.

    unnamed.jpg

Home is Providence, RI. But google only let me put in 10 places. Nashville is a want, KC MO is basically just for the BBQ, no real drive to visit or move there. Friends at Tinker, then carousel around Texas because we want to move there. Head out to NOLA area for a bit, family in Jacksonville, we also want to check out Charleston to move, so check that out for a day or two, and then maybe DC on the way home.

West coast would be cool too but I don't think I have the time to get from New England to So Cal, add in Texas, Florida, and then back home in 2 weeks ± a day or two. We're talking 48 hours just driving to get out to Los Angeles. We'll see, that's a maybe trip...CO would be a good stop, but I just don't think I have the time this trip.

Hey now, since we are pausing re-opening maybe itll just be a trashcan fire suitable for simmering a can o' beans by the time he gets here. Unless you mean the Texas summer heat, in which case the furnace will be blowing at full blast

Honestly, even without the rampant Covid, or the paused reopening, I’ve never been one to visit Texas in the summer. Made that mistake once to go golfing with a friend that lived there at the time. No thanks.

Yup! Spending a lot of time down there, intentionally. We want to move down there, so I'm going to check it out in the summer.

Full blast heat is the intention. We went to ATX over the christmas holiday stretch, which is nice. BUT I want to go for a few days in the full furnace heat to see if we can handle it. If it's too much to handle, f it - if there's 4 months we can't do anything outside anyway, at least New England we are already here, have a house, family, etc.

We were planning to go in August anyway, but then decided to call it off (before we bought any tix or anything, fortunately) as it looked like TX was kicking off, and if they told us last minute "Hey we can't have you in a hotel" then the trip becomes a mess. So, we called it off - last night I decided "F IT I have 2 weeks in July....short road trip, maybe out to Michigan.....Nashville would be cool I can go there....Oh wait....TEXAS ISN'T THAT FAR!"

So...here we are....planning a road trip to Texas in July in lockdown, taking the truck 20mpg black interior, makes complete sense if you don't think about it.

I gave up on stonks today. I'm not looking because I don't want to know.

I've lived around central Texas the majority of my life, but its been so humid lately that I've questioned my sanity doing things outside. But normally, a hat, a little sunscreen, a shit ton of water, and maybe a spare shirt, then outside activities are no problem. You get used to the almost constant sweating.

    Pretty enticing, eh?

The stonks are in the tonks right now, Id like to buy but I feel like this trend will continue to next week. Ive closed out the browser windows for my brokerages for now.....
