It has to be reclocked because the winch is mounted feet forward in the ARB. I don't have it installed anymore, but I remember the area where the freespool is located is tight and I had to reach up through the front of the bumper.

I'm not someone who needs a winch regularly, I just want that extra piece of mind for doing solo trips. As long as it works when I need it, I'm good. I've got small hands, hopefully it wouldn't be an issue. They've got a good deal on eBay for it right now, so I'm just trying to convince myself to press buy.

Anyone feel like sharing pix of their CMC? I might cut mine soon and wait for Jim to be available for the plate welding but I'm not 100% on where/what to cut. I thought I saw something on TW where someone added lines to a pic of a cab mount showing where to cut but I can't find it now.

I found mine for $399 back in December on eBay. If you're still up in the air, wait a bit and see if the price drops

I think they may be discontinuing the X2O since the new Gen 3 winches came out recently. Seems like stocks are dwindling most places, and this is about 100 bucks cheaper than anywhere else I can find currently. And obviously the Gen 3 is more expensive.

Jim went over them and explained it to me back last August in this thread. I was gonna go find it for you but my phone keeps lagging and after 3-4 minutes I gave up.

Did you cut yours? If so, did you use an angle grinder and how difficult was it?

Missed the convo yesterday about Fortune Creek but here are some pics from last week a few Jeep buddies took. Good luck to anyone headed that way.

Same with my warn xd9000. It's easier to go through the slot in the front that the hole on the top. I've been meaning to enlarge that top hole. Now that you reminded me :sawzall:

Is there a Gen3 X20 out ( i couldnt find it)? I've seen the Gen3 XRC but thought that was a different line-up for Smitty. I'm new to the winch game and could use any info.

No new X2O Currently, but who knows if there will be. I'm betting they probably will since it had the IP68 waterproof rating where the XRC only had/has IP67.

Thin disks 4” grinder stupid easy. The tape made it easy to see and get straight lines. My safety glasses were sun glasses that day so it was a little dark up in there. Maybe 5-10 minutes of laying it out perfect then 2-3 minutes of cutting. I had a BAMF plate to trace my lines with a sharpie. I made sure my cuts were a little smaller than my plates so they wouldn’t fall through to make welding them back up easy. I did a little grinding on the plate and hole for a tight fit tack welded it in there then went to town and let the grinder do the magic on the finish. I can glue metal together but I’m not a welder by any means. A584752F-9B42-4698-813E-6061E785E547.jpg45900B34-1E37-46EE-BD88-8B66286AC05E.jpg
