I had to buy 12 boxes to cover the area under the Green Bean. You should have seen the looks I got at the supermarket.

Think I'm going to drive about an hour west of here today and see if I can find some Black Cat Diablo mortars for July 4

Normally we have lots of neighbors over for a potluck. Nice social time and then fireworks at dark. Covid has kind of killed that. But we can still do fireworks

No fireworks for us this year. Drought conditions, so local Fire Departments aren't issuing the permits for fireworks.

We have the out-of-state renters down the road already shooting the god damned things off all hours of the night on the lake. Does wonders for the PTSD, half of my neighborhood is 'Nam veterans. First year I moved back someone was shooting them off at 10pm on a weeknight and I ended up literally diving under the kitchen table and curling up in a ball until it stopped, didn't know they had legalized them while I was stationed away. My neighbor said he still tucks and rolls under the nearest piece of furniture, old Marine vet. Good times.:annoyed:

Meanwhile in Maine..D009BD4C-877D-454A-8EF9-399E1408D58E.jpgCoworker texted this. Shot it last week in the ass and it scooted, came back at 4am and was trying to gnaw its way into his chicken coop for the third time in a week and a half and busted his electric fence and destroyed several of his bee hives. Wardens had given him the okay to pop it where hes in a fairly residential area with kids around. Things gonna make a bitchin rug:rolleyes:

I never got into Baywatch. It was pretty corny to me. But I had plenty of friends who did

The wife isn't feeling very patriotic this year....and I understand that to some degree. But were all still Americans and uniting as a country is more important than ever. Can't let the extreme elements of the far left and far right sow division. That's their narrative. But it's not mine.

To quote Ringo Starr...."peace and love to everyone".

Years ago I was in a McDonald’s and there was a hell of a storm going on. Raining like hell.
This older guy was sitting alone and then this wicked thunder clap hit. Scared the crap out of myself also. Well I heard another noise and he had hit the deck. Everyone look around and kinda laughed. I got up and went over and offered my hand. He looked up and took it. He got up and looked me right in the eyes. Never been looked at like that. We never said a word and I went back and sat down..
    Never forget it..
