Well the Goliath hasn't molted yet but my Brachypelma hamorii did, making that the 3rd molt since I've had her since mid 2018

 

Well looks like I spoke too soon. It has begun.

Hopefully you can sex it once it molts.

 

No genus puts on as much size between molts as Theraphosa. Just guessing I'd say an additional 1.5-2" legspan over the previous size. I'll probably skip trying to sex the molt though since this species also has the worst urticating hairs.

Yep, successfully molted. I'll post a pic when the Goliath is more spread out.

 

I know it's a terrible pic since it's shot through the corner of the enclosure, but caught my Goliath doing that post-molt stretch. Front to back leg measurement is 6" or maybe even 6.5" if they were flattened out more ... so I'd estimate another inch or inch and a half for a diagonal leg measurement.

Tarantulas and the Pythagorean Theorem! You can see the legs aren't even fully extended but 6" squared + 4" squared (short side of triangle) = length squared ... so 7.21" legspan with legs not even fully extended!

Caught my Tliltocatl albopilosum molting. Not quite as impressive as the Goliath Bird-eater, but way cuter.
