I'll probably say it until the day I die, but they should just remove all warning labels and let nature take its course

Fucking CA and their gun laws :frusty:

Talked to my co worker about when to do the transfer since my buddy owns his own shop we can do it there; my co worker only has a hunting license and no FSC.

FSC required for handguns, hunting license is an exemption for not having an FSC but only for long guns.

That whole fucking state is taking over Reno and Vegas. Our governor, in all his majestic wisdom, decided he was going to implement background checks on private sales/transfers of firearms and allow family members and law enforcement to petition a court to temporarily seize firearms if a person displays high-risk behavior.

That went over like a lead balloon outside of the two major cities. A whole bunch of law enforcement officers and Sheriff's offices got together and basically said, "Nope." I used to hate growing up in rural Nevada, but I have to say, as I get older, I really like their outlook on life.

Getting called into HR on a Friday when furloughs and layoffs have been happening left and right is no fun...that was the longest walk across the building I've done in awhile lol

Wasn't bad...well not like that anyway. About another matter involving a former employee that I worked with so I get to have a sit down with company lawyers next week, fun.

Guess: Somebody got laid off or furloughed and is now filing a lawsuit against the company for discrimination and you may be called as a witness.

Very likely that's the reason why.

Funny you say that because even though I've been here for +8 years, and I listed it on my resume/job application, the owner himself didn't know I was a disabled vet.

He made a comment about it, jokingly, but I never considered the status to fall under a protected class.

Close, it is an employee that got laid off but he was let go along with 6 other people about a year and a half ago. It was back when the company dissolved the e-commerce dept awhile ago and just kept on me and one other guy. The other guy got let go 2 weeks ago so now it's just me lol. We still have a website up and do commerce with Amazon and other vendors so now I'm pretty much the only one that works with them.

Anyway...without going into too much detail in case it bites me in the ass, this is the same guy I talked about awhile ago when this all started. His grievance is still being sorted out, let's just put it that way lol.

I sure as hell hope I don't have to get called as a witness...I'll claim that's above my pay grade

From what I know about the kid and why he started all this...he's totally just looking for an easy pay day. And he's capitalizing on all the stuff going on in the media/real life right now.

Well, in CA, being disabled puts you in a protected class.

I think being in CA in general puts you in an unprotected class.

For all it's faults in most every other aspect of life, one thing CA does do well is protect employees (compared to some other states)

that and Mexican food, though I think people from TX will probably want to disagree lol

Actually, agreed. The problem I have with it is more arbitrary laws created by people who only drive past the places they affect.

Tahoe is a great example. They refuse to allow home owners to cut down trees on their property for defensible space without MILES of red tape. I get that they love the forest, but it really ends up fucking them over when wildfire season is happening.
