Once again, that's deceiving. There are planned updates coming to the 2.0 "final". If he wants to flash and forget it, this isn't the time...

I can't help you much here other than saying that OVT is worth the price of admission. Part of that price is holding tight for the release.

These 2.0 full versions are a monster step up from the 2.0 Betas. If you can't abide getting a solid tune right now, then maybe the setup is not for you? I struggled early on and took a vacation from the thread until the things that I was looking for were released.

If you don’t want gearlock, you could flash now and be done. Not everyone wants it.

the “update” is just a variation of what’s released but with gearlock. Not sure what’s deceiving

That wasn't my point. I understand where we're at with the tunes now, but it took a while to figure out. The Term "final" continues to confuse prospective buyers. Personally, I don't consider it "final" until everything is included that was originally stated, without further updates.

We are paying for software to make our Tacos run like champs. It is does that.

We are not pay for a novel or a dictionary. For the time being, substitute "Full" for "Final" for now. Super easy to explain and understand:

Final > "Full" (final) > Beta > Test Tune > early last year when Mat surprised us all by mentioning 2.0.

Seem's to have a lot of people confused. How many times have you seen someone ask "If the 2.0 Final tune is actually out or not" :notsure:

Obviously some have a different opinion. Hopefully these posts clarify it for the people watching this thread and trying to figure out the awkward 2.0 tune release.

Either way, I'm looking forward to the actual 20.0 Final tune release. Bought my VF and tune pack on Monday. Still waiting on my email as well.

    I hope so also.

When you can, flash a tune and enjoy!

I wouldn't call it a "problem", per se. Matt's a busy guy with lots of things going - he's very responsive once you get his attention. For regular issues, these forums are a great resource and for most things that don't directly require Matt's help is the way to go.

I've been a OVTune user since very early 1.03 - one of the original dongle users. Every iteration has been a significant move forward. Especially between 1.04 and 1.05 IMHO. What I'm seeing in VFTune is exactly what I've been wanting as we all have our own ideas off what throttle tip-in and shift points should look like because some of us are bone stock and others run 35's with full armor - one tune isn't going to make us all happy. And with VFTune, I'm eager to make my happiness my problem. I just need my activation code.

Wait, so if we have a flash kit already, dongle or dongle-less, we can get the tune pack? Sorry to ask, been away for awhile, but how if that is the case?

If you haven't already ,you'll have to buy vfTuner. If you have a Dongle you'll have to trade it in first. If you have the original flash kit without dongle, you can upgrade to vfT for around $75

You do not have to give up your dongle. If you are an existing dongle guy and want a free upgrade to vF tuner
then you trade in your dongle. I kept my dongle ..... bought the vF outright. ($79.00 )
The dongle is only good for the old files ...... no new .pcm files in the future.

Since it's Friday I would like to continue the philosophical debate on whether the latest release is final or not. Additional discussion about the previous software will be helpful to make this thread useless for anyone coming in trying to talk about tune modifications. I'm sure someone will actually try but if we cloud the thread enough we can collectively hide the information and make a dumpster fire like the last thread

Current versions of 2.0 that are released for Autos are final version without gearlocking and map switch functions.
Some people did not want those features. So we released that version first.

The other version is the same tune but + gearlock and mapswitch

How long on average have you guys had to wait for your registration file? I submitted my system ID on Monday evening.... I know I’m impatient, just really itching to get this done after all the talk about it!

Also, for the tune packs I ordered as well, I assume those will be emailed to me as a separate file?
