Dodge and Kia topped the 2020 J.D. Power Initial Quality Study, which provides fascinating insights into the reliability of every car manufacturer on the American market
    J.D. Power

There’s nothing quite like solid data upon which to base buying decisions, particularly when you consider that a new automobile is one of the largest investments most people make during a lifetime. As production methodology has improved over the last few decades, the world order for the most reliable marque has changed on an almost annual basis and the latest full year report from J.D. Power indicates that past reputations are no longer relevant.

I know not a lot people care about JD and Consumer Reports but I find it interesting that Dodge is number one and Tesla dead last.

If Chevy can make commercials claiming to win it every year that’s a red flag for me and how accurate those ratings are haha

    I'm in that group.

Had some experience in the corporate world with some of their 'awards' a few years ago that took them off my credible list.

Initial quality is a lot different than reliability. A lot of things work initially, but it doesn't mean it stays that way.

If you browse the forums of those other vehicle makes, they have a lot more reliability issues than what I see on here. The most common problem I see on this forum isn't really a problem since it's always about the new transmission shifting weird.

Initial quality has no bearing reliability. This is fake news.
Dodge has all of 5 models outside of the ram brand trucks. Throw in the rest of the Mopar banner and they are down at the bottom.
Kia sold less thank 1/3 the number of units of a major brand, and they offer a bunch of options at no extra charge. Let’s check back with those customers after they had 2 motors replaced in their optima.

I think Kia builds a better vehicle than Dodge does. Kia vehicles probably have the least amount of tech over other vehicles, which would be a plus and could explain the brands ranking. More Kias are probably repossessed or totaled than other vehicles on the road, that could also explain where they rank.

I so love it that everything is fake news these days. We need a new Slogan for 2021. Kinda funny that nobody talked about Tesla yet.:rofl:

I know people like their Telsas, but they are the worst looking vehicles on the road. The interiors a very nice with the exception of the tablet screen, it's a nice tablet though, just don't want it on the dash.
