When I was really young like 14 my Dad and I went to the on base gym. He comes over to ask me to spot him (350). I tell him I don’t know how. He says naw itll be easy just spot me. No. Awuh come on!

So I take the bait. I’m standing over him. After rep 3 he starts to slow down. I just stand there. His face turning red. I decide he needs my help so I have to pull the bar up with a lot of force. He gets pissed and starts yelling at me. I’m like bro you never said “ok now help me” so IDK you want me to help you.

He doesnt ask me to spot anymore.

When you ask for a spot and someone says I don’t know how, fucking move on.

Same reason I can't have a motorcycle..my wife is dead against them and finally said if I get at least $1M in life insurance we can discuss it. Yeah like she wouldn't cut the brake and fuel lines hahahaha

I would argue its not the death thats the problem. Its you surviving a horrible crash and now shes left to wipe your ass till you die thats the problem.

To put it how my mom did when my dad started mountaineering “I don’t do cripples”.

As a kid I said I wanted one b/c I lived on my bicycles, so natural progression.

In truth, I've no burning desire..people suck at driving, can't use em a lot here, etc..plus what you mentioned. It is good I didn't get one when I was younger because I drove my old cars very fast so I'm sure at that age a motorcycle would have killed me

I waited til adulthood to purchase a two wheeled death machine, but i havent had any issues with it or other drivers, just my own mental shortcomings haha. I have a sticker on mine that says "Caution: this machine has no brain, USE YOUR OWN". i think cars need stickers like that, at least until they get brains...

I also opine most humans should have that sticker on their forehead prominently displayed.

My wife's favorite name for them is "donorcycles". If I remember right, someone she knew in their late teens got in a bad motorcycle accident too. My brother in law had a gorgeous DynaGlide but had to sell it..no license, no bike..and it wasn't bike related that it happened fortunately.

Living in MA (or as I call it, Assachusetts) also means limited time of year to ride..which is also true of an old hot rod, but that at least is something the 2 of us could enjoy together.

Aside, I could do all of this back in 1985-6 when this was filmed and released. Some of the clip is trick photography and equipment most people would never use though..the tricks are possible just not as you see them. Can still do a good amount of them but I try to avoid the advanced ones nowadays

I’m paying $75/month for a new 2019 Harley. That’s full coverage due to having to finance part of it. When I don’t have full coverage my quote was like 35/month

Thats actually mystifying to me for you living in CA.

I pay $72/mo for my Subie. I’m married, no accident record, no tickets, and $1,000 deductible.

No lie when I was 18 it was $40/mo to insure my F250.

    WTF happened to the world?
