@Ger260685 do you use ramps or do you have a spot the height of the tailgate that you use?

No, I've had over 1200lbs of stone and firewood in the bed, load spead out evenly across the bed. My truck works just fine and I haul loads in it safely.

Not a high centered load like you strapped just because you could get it to fit.

OP asked for cons in doing what you did and I gave them. If he wants to do it regularly then change the bed out to a platform flatbed that can distribute and properly secure the weight or else risk cracking the composite bed.

He has a trailer, best bet for him is to use that.

Take your "tough guy behind the keyboard" act elsewhere kid.

Didn't want to insult you . Sorry.
But i felt insulted vs my experience.
    Have a good one ;)
Ps : of corse a trailor is better.

What an award winning concept eh?

I do have to say our composite beds really do suck, so there might be some merit of truth in what you are saying there.

Props man, the most I've put in the bed of my truck so far was a few boxes of diapers. Don't mind the haters.

Yep it’s Friday when people are putting a 1000+ Ib high centered load in a composite bed and recommending it like it’s a great idea then use I’m a “mecanic” cough mechanic cough with 7!!!!! Straps on a bike “never knew bikes had four wheels” as some sort of “I know more then you on weight distribution and physics” kinda thing.

People do things that we may not agree with, but it doesn't make it wrong. We could say the same thing about people who lift their trucks, you're just raising the center of gravity on a 4,000 lb item with this. As long as it's driven carefully the high center of gravity isn't that bad. Putting 1,000 lbs is within the payload capacity of the truck, so the composite bed should be ok. Like I said, I just put diapers in mine, so I'm not pro, but I think everyone just needs to chill. I wish I had a Polaris and a boat.

So by that logic, the majority of the populace would think murder is wrong but just because we think that doesn’t make it wrong? It’s very clear that is unsafe, let alone the composite bed definitely doesn’t like that and lifting the vehicle is very different then adding 1,000 ibs to the rear suspension and raising the center of gravity tremendously more then lifting the truck.

I wasn't aware that the composite bed was so sensitive. Maybe on the 4th generation Toyota will model the composite bed after Chuck Norris.

Yup. I picked up a pipe top 5x10 Top Hat trailer for $450 which is crazy but it was a friend of a friend. No brainer for hauling ATVs etc. Leave the truck bed for all the other gear, cooler etc and roll!

There’s a reason why bed stiffeners are so talked about when anything of weight is to be added to the bed like bed caps and rtts.

Bonus bc it is gray and almost matches my MGM. They are $1300 new and although it is 10 years old, it has original tires and was well cared for.
There are hundreds of fools out there asking $1000 for POS homemade trailers and when I found out about this one I jumped. I ran Top Hats with my lawn business and they are quality. Especially a pipe top.
