so i noticed this, this am o-ring pushed out,, wtf... the shock can move back and forth on the bushing alot , caused the o-ring to come out, the OEM foxs arnt like that.. these can move back and forth on the bushing quite abit.. thats gonna cause the o-ring to get forced out. this happen to anyone , just had them installed yesterday, the shock can slide back and forth about a 1/2 in, thats prolly the noise i heard, shock moving to one side or the other hitting the sides

are the front fox 2.5's suppose to have snap rings on the bottom to hold the o-rings in place, mine have none, and noticed snap ring in picture on website, thanks

received my fox 2.5's from headstrong, had them installed yesterday, noticed this this am.. o-ring pushed out, 1st pic ,, then pic of other side no snap rings either, are there suppose to be snap rings ,and there wasnt any when i looked at them when i got them, it looks like a o-ring, unless the o-ring covers up the snap ring,, thanks, 20200624_092313.jpg20200624_114949.jpg

ok,i was told the o-ring covers the snap-ring, that leaves this question, with the 3/8 to 1/2 space, is the shock suppose to slide back and forth on the bushing ?? you can see the shock is slid all the way to one side, the other shock is also slid all the way to one side. these are the questions i ask, as i dont know, seems like they would stay positioned in the center of the bushing.. thanks

install what backwards, there is a left and right shock... both sides have shifted to one side, meaning the shock does not stay centered on the bushing, i contacted headstrong, and was told not there problem, to contact FOX, then i was told from headstrong the o-ring covers the snap ring, then i asked them if they are suppose to stay centered and never got an answer back..

maybe someone with fox 2.5 can look at there's and see if theres look like mine with the o-rings on the outside, seems if the shock can slide on the bushing the o-rings could roll out,,, or maybe thats just the way they are made.. or mine have a problem..

You should reach out to Headstrong customer support instead of blasting the problem on here.

Who installed it? Did they make sure the correct bushing was installed on the bottom? I know on mine I had to press out the one that was mounted in the shock and install the other one they provided. Unfortunately, your issue appears more as an installation issue and manufacturer. I would not call out the vendor that sold you as responsible.

local shop installed them, they came with bushing's installed, no other bushing's in box, they are OEM replacements, they should come with the correct parts, as far as vendor, if there is something manufactured wrong, then send me a new set, and they can deal with the manufacture, i need my truck, cant take them off and send them out ,,

installation issue, lol, you align the 2 holes up and slide the bolt thru, not complicated.. ?i dont call them responsible, but if there is a defect, they should replace them, and deal with FOX, i need my truck, cant take them off and send them back.
does bushing look right to you, is it suppose to move side to side, you would think its suppose to stay centered, this is the question no one has answered ... i sure after install, the shock slid on the bushing, and the o-ring rolled out.. so whats gonna stop this from happening again

The Anything Fox Related thread would've probably got a quicker response. I can't speak to the o-ring. I don't recall mine doing that, but I'll look the next time I'm out at my truck. I can tell you that my shocks are also heavily favoring one side of the bushing. I agree that it's a very strange placement and almost like it's not designed for this truck as I also believe it should sit centered. But I'm clearly not an engineer and maybe it doesn't matter b/c the load still rests on the thru bolt, so it's side/side placement isn't critical. THat'd be a question for FOX.

You gotta keep this to one thread man. Things are gonna get lost and tougher for people to answer your question when there's multiple threads.

Mine sit similarly but no issues with a bushing or o ring. I’ve had zero issues with mine and they get use outside of the grocery store parking lot.

Most 2.5” coilovers have to sit offset in the LCA mount to be able to clear the sway bar if it is still installed. ICON’s for example come with a large and small misalignment spacer for the bottom heim joint to offset it in the mount. I can’t speak to the exact parts fox comes with cause I’ve never had them in my hands off a truck but them mounting off center in the LCA is how they are designed to mount.

That'd make sense. I haven't had a sway bar installed on the truck in about 10 years so I barely remember what it even looks like let alone how close it'd sit to the shock if installed.
