Haha it’s ok. Yeah 210x50. Maybe 210x52.5. I was told the bike was engineered around a 210x50 so it’s best to stay with that length.

I’ve had a similar issue but it was because my top cap wasn’t tightened all the way down when I tightened the stem down on the steerer tube.

What about under a heavy duty tonneau like a diamondback?

Found a stock Trek Marlin 7 in great shape for sale locally. What would be a fair price to offer? Looks like the newer frame design which I think they changed in 2019?

Long shot, but anyone have a Dhx2 8.5x2.5 with climb switch they’re looking to sell? After testing my friends shock today on my bike I want one.

I've left my bike inside my locked camper for days at a trailhead while I was backpacking. You can't see inside my camper and no one's gonna try to steal a bike if they don't know it's there. I'm sure it'd be fine under a locked tonneau.

Someone talk me out of pre-ordering the 2021 Commencal Meta TR 29. I love the Full Stache on descents, it’s crazy fast and fun. Despite its stated 130/130 travel its rides way bigger than that. The brakes suck, but that’s an easy fix. In the process of swapping to 203 rotors front and rear to try and actually stop this freight train. Truth is, I’ve never been a big fan of corporate anything and Trek is definitely that. The Trek store experience leaves a lot to be desired. Aside from the mechanics, who are great, I could do without the rest of their snooty staff. Best part about Commencal, from my view, they’re more of a boutique brand, which I like. And their North American sales and service center is right down the road in Golden, CO.

The Full Stache is a badass (and rather unique) bike, though, regardless of all the corporate crap.

I’ve been hearing mixed stuff about QC with them. Could be nothing, but if there is an issue, it takes months to get replacement stuff. I know those direct to consumer brands are trying to upset the status quo but they have a long way to go to get the full trust of the bike shop brands. That and less support for the LBS. I’m also saying this knowing that YTs US headquarters is less than a mile from my old BMX trails.

Also, randomly thought of this... why don’t we do bike checks for our own bikes? Lots of people checking out this thread, and maybe some have questions about a bike, frame, or component one of us runs? Makes sense no?

    Or a bike check thread?

Love the idea. A thread would make it a lot more organized, but I'm not sure if it would be too much overlap.
I'll try and get something started in terms of format.

Some LBS around here are just as snobby as the OP post regarding the corporate. I have been ordering most of my parts online and avoiding the LBS that I use to go to now that I know better. Some of the LBS are great, but the main one around here have become too snobby for my liking.

I agree. It’s not just Trek. Even my old stomping ground LBS has become this way. There is really only one in town, out of about 8, that I’ll even go into anymore. I order most of my stuff online too. Either direct from the company or from Jenson. Just don’t get the attitude.
