2013 Taco, squeaky clutch, is it the master cylinder?

I got this Taco in 2016 with only 12,000 miles on it. Currently has 42,000. It seems common that the clutches on these Tacos starts squeaking (started in probably 2017). I could get it to stop before by lubing the rod that goes into the master cylinder. It would just come back every few months. Now, that has stopped working. When I depress the clutch the creaky vibration seems like it is in the master cylinder. I also laid down some cloth and used some spray silicone to hit every pivot/spring associated with the clutch that I could get to inside the cabin without removing anything. No effect.

I had my truck at the dealership getting the frame inspected for corrosion, and they gave me an estimate on a full clutch fix to get rid of the squeak.....almost $800 with everything. That seems like too much.

I have a friend that will probably help me replace the clutch master cylinder for free or a small price ($100 or less I figure). So my questions are: 1. Has anyone replaced the clutch master cylinder and gotten rid of a squeak?, 2. if I get a new clutch master cylinder, what is the best brand to get? (I have no idea if you can get OEM ones or where to go, hence why I need help from my friend)

    Thanks

I had a similar problem on my 97 4Runner. Master cylinder replacement, clutch spring replacement, and I think the squeakiness came from this little plastic /bushing thing the clutch spring would sit on. Idk if the tacomas have a similar set up but it would be a good bet to see if they have that and it isn't broken or something.

Thanks. I'm not under warranty, and the TSB is what they want to do.....for $800. No way I'm paying that when I can probably get it fixed (if I know the problem) for less than half that.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Mine has been creaking for 10 years. I’d miss it if it weren’t there. 155k

Mine has done it a couple of times and I've sprayed it every time. If I recall correctly, the last time I did spray it, I used some cheap WD-40 type stuff that was a little thicker than WD-40. I sprayed the push rod and everything up in the pivot assembly. It's a bitch to get up in there, but hose it out real well and put a junk towel on your pedals and floor mat over night.
I'd give the spray another try. What have you got to lose?
