We can’t do burnouts?

For real, gotta shoot them gaps. Just hope your inside tire doesn't start slipping & squealing

 

They seem to like it when I do smoky burnouts in my Camaro RS/SS. But I wouldn't even bother trying in the Tacoma.

I have to admit that I tried to drift mine on wet pavement and the back of the truck got really playful... so playful that I got scared... i have to try on an open area so I don’t hit anything...

 

You just gotta be a man lay on that gas pedal.

 

Who said a chick was involved? We can’t do burnouts just for the sake of doing them now?

And then the thread with “need new tires, looking for advice”.

My 911 will spin the tires with all the nanny’s turned off in every gear through third (I’ve never done this, it’s based on a track day video)....but why would I burn up $1500 worth of tires for someone’s else’s enjoyment?

Now if you were posting videos of off pavement adventures it would be interesting and perhaps educational.

 

Usually you'd wait until your tires are getting replaced to do the epic burnouts.

 

See..I didn’t even think of that! Still, it’s just strain to the drive train that doesn’t make sense for 5 seconds of smoke. But if ya gotta do it.....

 

Agree... that’s why I’ve never tried “stationary” burnouts... I will have some fun on wet days... but never on dry pavement...

 

I don't know. It only takes a second to break traction and then you can roast them and it's probably less strain then actually tracking on pavement normally. Used to do them all the time in Mustangs and my old 5.4liter MT RWD F150. I'd think it's not worse than running on a Dyno.

 

Maybe if I had a sports car I’ll do it... but to me it does not feels right on my truck... when is wet is another story... easier and I am not roasting the tires that much... but the hole process of stopping, pressing the trac off, leaving it pressed until it turns it off completely is boring...

Burnouts are a spontaneous thing... not a: oh wait, let me turn trac off because I want to do a burnout... hahaha

 

It was real though in some cases. I had it in my 06 Tacoma. The gas pedal would get hung up on the factory original floor matts. I had a Manual so I just pushed in the clutch and pulled the gas pedal back with my foot. After the 3rd time it happened I looked into it and got the floor mats replaced. If you had an automatic and were just a typical driver it had to be scary. I think I hated everything about my 06 Tacoma except the smaller size.

 

Oh no, I wouldn't even attempt it in my Tacoma.
