Yeah, and then Chevy one-upped them with a Chevy carrying a Ford carrying a Chevy, if I remember right.

For sure. One of the things that always stands out to me about the older trucks is how thick the leaf packs were on them. I understand that metallurgy and spring design has improved over the years, but those trucks were made to haul

I think Chev's answer to that was to re-enact the Ford commercial, but with a Chevy pulling the whole works, including the mountain, lol.

I remember that one somewhere along the line...there were a whole series of them from both GM and Ford.

I remember a Toyota commercial where a Tacoma was carrying a Ford while pulling a Chevy
and jumping over a Dodge. OR Maybe that was a dream.... Hell of a lot of Fun while it lasted though.

They did this to help the CAFE figures. Buyer beware when the batteries are toast....

You can say the same thing with the original Prius. I still see a ton of them around daily.

Yes and the cost to replace said batteries is not cheap. If your saving on gas your going to pay somewhere else.

    Cost of ownership.

Don’t know what kind of batteries the F150 is going to use, but we’ve driven 2 different Camry Hybrids since 2007. About 200,000 miles total and had no issues with batteries in either one. During the time we’ve been driving them the warranty went from 5 year 50,000 miles to 8 year 80,000 miles on batteries. At least he length of ownership of a vehicle for most people, battery replacement is not an issue.
