This guy. My truck was given to me after my grandpa passed away. 5 lug or not it’s not forsale. There’s a story behind every truck bud

You should protest that price of labor by not using them, and then protest that lift kit by not buying it

To clear things up, i plan on doing it myself with a friend of mine. I appreciate mechanics and understand the price. I am just a broke 23yr old asking if 500 is reasonable for a job that has been said to be very easy and doable. Not tryna start anything friends

I definitely get what you are saying. I originally, and still do, plan on doing it myself. If i was going to go through i shop i would have stayed "in house" my friend was going to help me but got corona. I am taking a big camping trip so I wanted it done by a shop before I left. But since i am very broke i am just waiting until after.

And sorry I didn't stay hounded to this post, ive been very busy, thank you for your input!

You can do it yourself, there's enough YouTube videos that show you how. Plan on most of a day to get it done though.

Are you planning on putting bigger tires on?

I think it will look a bit off (big truck little wheels).
Plus bigger tires give more ground clearance.

I put on 30x9.5 LT's. I wish I had gone with 31's (but the may have rubbed unless I got wheels with a different offset).

    Anyway, good luck.

Sounds like a fair price, all things considered.

I genuinely like to work on my truck when it comes to things I’m comfortable with such as my audio system, new grille with a little wiring involved and eventually bumpers down the road.

When it comes to the rubber meeting the pavement? I’ll def pay for a professional on that.

Thanks! But yeah im lifting it because the people who owned it before me put 18in rims and fesh tires before i bought it. The tires are slightly too large rn and rub when i hit a bump and my wheel is turned slightly

Yeah, shops quote jobs from alldata, that's how some techs can make bank! For instance, alldata may say job takes 3hrs but a decent tech can do it in half that time. The game is rigged lol

You want to pay me the actual time it takes, sure but then you also have to pay me the full 5 hours I spent the first time for doing a repair that flat rate you'd only pay 3 hours for. I've spent hours on electrical diag on weird ass car problems but that doesn't mean I get paid the whole 4/5/whatever hours cause the customer won't pay.

Mine has nothing but blocks, spacers, JBA UCA's, sway bar delete, 37's, and it rides fantastic on the street.

    Offroad it's horrible.

As far as fucking up the truck, they're blocks and spacers and simply unbolt. What specifically does it fuck up? Rhetorical.
