So OEM wheels will fit a 285. But most aftermarket wheels with poke won’t. So now the question will be will “x” wheel fit. You should just post the backpacking and offset so you can avoid the confusion. There are only so many good looking wheels out there.

If it hits anywhere in its travel, it hits. It’s that simple. Any hitting at any point is NOT acceptable. It complete crap to say it won’t happen on road. I can bottom suspension go into a parking lot, has nothing to do with off-road.
You’re original post was “they fit”, IF they only fit by your quoted definition above, then you’re the one misleading, as that’s clearly not fitting.

Sorry. Like I said I was only trying to help but obviously it backfired. Can I delete this thread? If I knew how I would.

Look man, everyone is just saying every circumstance is different. Not everyone wants to run TRD pro rims and a 2.5” lift. Did you have good luck without rubbing? Sure. But not everyone wants that setup. Most people want some aggressive offset wheels. The specs you listed are pretty limited to OEM and most wheels that people sought after are aftermarket 8” wide wheels. I understand your views on lifts helping rubbing, but the fact is that 285’s just don’t fit in the wheel wells with wider than OEM aftermarket wheels. These trucks weren’t designed to have anything wider than a 265 or a 275 so I’ve heard. I Understand you were trying to help, but your setup is again one circumstance. Im sure someone can benefit from it if they choose to go the same route, but most people are not gonna go the same route.

My wife has a Pro with 285 tires. No lift all stock. Has never rubbed anywhere but she also has never taken it off road.

That’s my point! I was pointing out what my exact setup is to let people know there are options out there where no modifications are needed. It was that simple!

And the 4Runner Pro rims that I also have pictured. Lots and lots of people run those rims and you can run a 33” tire without any mods with that wheel also. Using a Klever RT tire in a 33/10.5 is another combo that will avoid any rubbing. I was only trying to let people know that there are options to avoid a CMC and trimming.

Why not attack the people who simple say you can’t run a 285 without doing some trimming or a CMC? They are the ones that don’t know what they are talking about.

well I do work on vehicles for a living . But I didn’t buy a pro so I guess I’m screwed. It’s cool that your trying to help but “hey they fit threads “ can be as annoying as “will they fit threads “
    Dead horse and all .
