Does anyone know if these events are supposed to be blowing air when I have just the "foot" setting on the controls active?

Doesn't matter what position I have the knob in, there's always air coming out of this vent and the matching passenger side one15933842321487199168845745406672.jpg

Sweet! Given the size it's most likely 3/8 profile chain.. I know you can get a new bar from the Oregon company.. probably a new clutch drum/sprocket as well

Dang, so I'd have to tear the whole dash apart and put new seals in to stop it?

Not all of them... the ones that mount directly to tank have been plastic for decades but they used to have have metal carb bodies if it had a bowl... now the ones with bowls are completely plastic as well

Make sure you check the crunchiness of the fuel line coming from the tank to the carb. There might be a corresponding vent hose as well that will cause running issues if it's dry rotted as well

Yeah man that's gonna be the type of saw you're handing down to your kid and on. Especially a big boy like that one. Gonna burn through oak and the hard stuff like buddah:D

That summer I lived and worked in Virginia a few years back, also when I got the Tacoma and joined here, but I rebuilt an old Poulan saw for a guy. Was a smaller one but the thing screamed. Put a new carb and something else.... nah, I think it was just a carb, was all it needed.
