Can anyone recommend a good spot to ground the puddle switch if I’m putting the switch under the climate controls and radio, the couple spots I tried the bolt was too big for the ground wire ring

    Center console organizer.
Cut the supplied ring and use one smaller, if you have one.

Edit: Sorry… use a bigger ground ring, if you have one.

I wedged it between the panel and the bolt screw for the radio, bottom left 10mm screw.

upload_2020-6-27_13-14-3.jpg This is what I did.

I’m going to cut the eye out and attach a bigger one. I rather attach to the HU bolt. This area was a PITA to install.

I wish the ground terminal that came with it was larger. I planned on putting a larger one on since no bolts are that small to go through it. However, I wanted to finish up for the night so I cut it into a “U” shape and slipped it on any ground. Have had it couple weeks now with no problems, so don’t plan to change it unless problems begin to occur

It’s been noted and will be revised on future ground lugs.

Just a quick note for anyone who might think the switch is a bit on the bright side. I'll apologize ahead of time for the crappy pictures, but trying to get good ones was too frustrating.
Here is the switch unaltered. The Cargo switch is at full brightness in this pic for comparison
    Meso_NoChange.jpg
Here is the switch with a piece of tint applied (I believe it was in this thread that was mentioned as a possible solution). I think this was 20% tint, but I can't verify that. Its what I had lying around
    Meso_Tinted.jpg
Here is the switch with relocating the ground (SEE NOTE BELOW), and no other changes. Cargo light still at full brightness for comparison.
    Meso_NoResistor_wPWM.jpg
Here is the Switch with a 2.7k resistor on the illumination 12v+ (the small black wire) and the ground relocated. This is full Brightness
    Meso_27kwPWM_FullBright.jpg
Here it is with the 2.7k resistor and relocated ground, dimmed all the way down
    Meso_27kwPWM_Dimmed.jpg
Now here's the note on relocating the ground. There are two ground wires coming from the switch harness. I cut one of those (the one that does the Illumination, NOT the one that acts as the ground for the puddle pods in the ON position)(side note, they are both black, and I currently don't remember which one it was, but you can find it easily with a meter, or just wait for me to post a picture of it tomorrow if your interested). I took the wire I cut and hooked it to the tan Illumination wire on the AUTO switch. You can do this to any Illumination (-) on the switches I believe. Doing this will dim the Meso switch with the rest of the lights. If the light is still to bright for you, just put a lager resistor inline. If its too dim, put a smaller one. Hope this helps someone. It is a very nice switch, well constructed and cleanly printed (or etched, whatever it is you call it), its just a tad bright for me, and I'd like it to dim.

OK, I looked again today and it pretty obvious which is the SPDT legs and which is the illumination. On the plug for the switch, there are 5 wires. 1 row of 3, 1 row of 2. The row of three is yellow, red, black. This is the actual switching part that does the on/off/auto. Don't touch it. The second row consists of two black wires. the smaller of the two is the parking 12v+. If you want to put a relay inline, this is the wire to do it on. The thicker black wire here is the ground for the illumination. You can follow it down a few inches and see where it is soldered to the other thick black wire, and then they go to one wire which is the ground. This larger wire can be cut and relocated to the tan (at least it is tan on the AUTO switch, cant speak for anywhere else) illumination circuit or any of the PWM legs on the switch illuminations. So it can be done if it mounted in the center or the overhead, but I am not sure which wire you would use. But I am willing to bet its on this forum somewhere, or @caribe makaira could probably tell you in his sleep. Hope this helps anyone that want the lighting on the Meso switch to better match and act like a factory switch.

Here is how the harness looks as shipped
    Meso_Stock.jpg

And here is how to dim it down, and have it dim with all the other dash lights
    Meso_Dimming.jpg

Hope that makes sense. I suck at diagraming and explaining things.

Here is a man that stands behind his product!
I broke one of my pod housings doing a @KTJO4X4 install and he sent me a new one in no time!
    Thanks @MESO

    Thanks for the support!

I'll have some more puddle kits in a few weeks.
Also, thanks for the criticism @Puppypunter on the switches. I am constantly working to improve my products. The next batch of switches will have a more "blue" LED to match the factory better. It's close now...just not perfect. Also another change will be the ground eyelet hole size.

@MESO any idea how to hook up a switch pro to turn the lights on and off but keep the courtesy light function?

Didn’t mean it too critically. I am just oddly peculiar about stuff matching. I was going to wire around it with a Push on/off switch (SPST) and a relay, but have changed my mind because I like it so much. So now it is currently opened and on my soldering bench to swap the LED. This allows me to speak from a different perspective on the quality I think. Comparing your switch to another SPDT I also have torn apart, yours is very nice. The bearing sits very well into the indent, giving it a very solid feel when switching. The LED being so bright is the only “complaint” (I hate using that word, as it is an overstatement) is how bright it is. Perhaps you could have a larger resistor installed in them during manufacturing? If I recall, the one that is in it is a 2Ohm. That’s not much resistance (just for comparison, AirOnBoard uses a 15k Ohm). Increasing the resistance has the added bonus of generally making the LED itself last longer as well. But my honest review of you switch would be as follows: it is the best quality SPDT switch I have found. The blue LED is the second best match to OEM out of all of the switches I have tested. It’s bright, and dimming it down brings it even closer to matching.Keep on doing what you’re doing, which is a freaking great job of producing well designed and high quality products! Don’t worry about oddities like me, I am just an outlier.

I ordered a kit from one or Meso’s vendors way back on May 5th. It never showed up. Lost in the mail i guess. Hope to get it sorted out and delivered so I can hook these up. I may need more instruction to dim the switch down if I ever get these.
