We will have a number of options, but just testing out kaizen foam and feasibility. Most people I think would want to custom their storage depending on what they’ve got

    Thanks for the feedback

We are doing a soft launch in about a week, pretty excited! We filmed recently and currently editing our product video.

Looks amazing! Love the attention to detail, like the wire guide, and the innovations like using tool batteries. Couple random questions,
    • What's the weight of the latest model?
    • How exactly is the pin in the front connected to the bed? Curious to learn where any load stresses might be. Would there ever be a reason to (and would it be possible) add another connection from the PullKitchen to the bed by the tailgate? I wonder about it shifting around or bouncing when I hit bumps, and generally making noise back there. I'm guessing it hasn't been a problem, but I'm curious if it could benefit from a little more securing.
    • Have you noticed a difference in surface temperature between the different finishes? I ask because I have a brushed aluminum grill and it can get *really* hot in the sun sometimes, and I would probably go for whatever color keeps all surfaces the coolest they can be (maybe white can be an option?)
    • Is it possible to still access the bed's AC outlet without too much trouble?
It's been really fun watching all your YouTube videos and seeing this evolve into such a nice product. I'm definitely thinking of getting one of these when I switch over to a newer model Tacoma hopefully soon (currently on a 2007 DCSB and I can't do this until I get a new one with a tonneau to hide it). Best of luck with the new business!

Good questions. So I’m going to answer above in your comment, see the underlined sections. Photo showing the mount a little better as mentioned above. 0E570E83-F4B6-490D-B932-D7BAF9B99E07.jpg

Colors—we have black, white, blue, red, brushed aluminum, and our latest build was green. Looks good in person for sure.8FE2A747-7372-4B3B-BFA7-01925B533F82.jpg

Also we just updated our handles to be sub-flush, makes the pull in Pull Kitchen even easier.

@Papadave418 this thing looks amazing. I've been really impressed with it since I saw your prototype on the OB video. But I gotta say, $4300 is a really tough pill to swallow for the convenience that this offers. It's a significant chunk of the cost of an expedition trailer. Maybe some day I'll come into a ton of money and can buy this, but it would probably come after a high-end RTT and probably even after a trailer.

    Damn, it looks so nice.

Hey thanks for the feedback and consideration. Yeah we know it isn’t cheap, mostly because of the quality of parts and being USA made. The pricing reflects manufacturing in the US, operating in CA, labor, overhead, and the fact that it has so many components. If you look at a bumper build it’s a unique design, steel, welded by craftsmen, and powder coat. The components are minimal. We have over 40 unique items that make up each unit which adds up fast. And we certainly aren’t getting rich off of these units :)

We decided early that we wanted to build the best unit we could and knew it may not be the solution that everyone wants, but that for some it would hit the mark. More than a kitchen, it really does change the way people camp and off roading for them as so often the “work” of camping keeps them from going out more. Feedback has been amazingly positive. It’s an adventure trailer kitchen without having to lug around an adventure trailer.

    I sincerely appreciate your post!

I think it really nice, and priced appropriately.

I live near Notre Dame...tailgaters would love this. You should bring a rig to a home game, and make some food. People would flock to it.

Thanks for the response. I certainly didn't mean to imply you were price-gouging. I'm sure it is priced fairly. But wow it adds up! I'd love to pick one up some day.

I agree with @Flowie. This would definitely appeal to tailgaters as well. Here in the heart of SEC country tailgating is a way of life. I would be happy to sport one of these for you while tailgating during the upcoming season. :anonymous:

    Great looking product!

Haha that’s actually our stage 2 for this product. My partner Parker is from Indiana and he’s been telling me the same thing. We need to ramp up production first and then we are going for it! We have been looking into licensing logos and such, when that time comes we may be looking for some people to rep it. Providing life can ever get back to normal

We’ve received some hate mail that we are gouging, I think (probably because of China and NAFTA) most just don’t understand how expensive manufacturing really is. One guy said he would pay $1800 for it, which wouldn’t even come close to covering the materials cost alone. So no didn’t think you were saying anything negative, but I am aware it costs for sure! But every time I whip it out at camp there’s a crowd checking it out, and a couple pissed off people because I’ll be washing dishes by the time they get ready to pull out their Coleman grill. :)

just seeing the product in action alone..with exposure to around 10,000 ppl is worth the cost of the trip.
Notre Dame home games average 120,000 ppl from out of town...add another 20,000 people from the area...thats a mid sized city that may get exposed to the product over the course of 3 days.
    Thats cheap advertising.

I suggest saving on the licensing and just build using school colors. Fans can always add stickers or magnet logos.

    That's a shame Dave.

It's a beautifully constructed and well-thought out product. If you're an avid camper, I can't think of a comparable option that offers so much utility and promises years of simple, trouble free function.

People are free to pause at the price, but any accusations of gouging are uncalled for.

I've dragged around travel trailers and fifth wheels for decades. Being able to add this and an ikamper to a Tacoma gives an unprecedented amount of versatility and convenience at a third of the cost of a small trailer.

Awesome design! Random thought, are you guys just going to make kitchens? What about tool/equipment storage with a similar layout? Very cool concept and seems pretty adaptable to many different uses.

(I mainly ask because my cooking stops at bowl of cereal )

Actually the funny thing is I’m a horrible cook. I made my original one to get rid of my bins and make it easy. That’s why it’s still so fully self-contained to make it easy, water power lights pantry storage kitchen storage flat space cutting board sink burners and you can throw it in the truck in 3 mins. All to make my water boiling and package meals easy! Haha

To answer, we have a number of products in mind, from water heaters to a SUV version of this kitchen, half bed slides, and a few others. So my company name is Motive Design LLC so we aren’t just all kitchens. We have ideas for hunters and fishermen with versions of this set up as well
