    im lookin for something so my wife can actually get in the truck easier im just not sure about the sliders though could they be used as a step also and what kinda tube steps are recommended (NO Westin Please)

    My vote is sliders as well simply because they have a function other than just appearance like the nerf bars. You can use them as a jack point and it can serve as ACTUAL protection of your rocker panels.

    I considered regular nerf bars, but have since changed my mind to sliders. Ordering them this week! :)

    I haven't ordered them yet, but probably going with the All Pro Offroad sliders. That's assuming I can't find a friend that has metal working skills and equipment to make my own... :)

    I went with the All Pro sliders. Really nice sliders I think. I have had them for a while now but still have to put them on. Just can't seem to find the time. I think we have a four day weekend coming up though so I am going to find an off-road shop and have them weld them on. Can't wait to get them on...

    i really dont need to get weld on sliders i would like to find a set of ones that will bolt straight up to my truck and not drill or weld

    Also, the AllPro bolt on sliders, you have to drill 3 holes on each side for the bolts.

    Not only what he said but the sliders are very close to your cab, not much room for a foot without touching the truck. Not only that but if they are painted not much traction, maybe get them undercoated. I think for your application you would be better with the Tube steps of your choice.

    Both very true. However, some have painted their sliders with bed liner stuff to give traction. Others have said the painted ones really aren't slippery at all.

    It's worth noting that the AllPro sliders are shipped raw - you gotta paint 'em.

    well to be honest i dont wear womens shoes all that often

    i'll have ND stand on them in a couple weeks and we'll find out :eek:

    in all honesty if she gets in and out of the truck in heels a lot...it may be a better option to get steps as missing the slider with the heel could be disastrous for the heel itself and possibly her ankle

    The All Pros look like the stick out further than say the shrockworks or the demello sliders, but is it enough? No clue since I haven't seen them myself yet.

    For sliders, it's got to be one or the other (either weld or drill). They attach to the frame of the truck for strength.
