Yeah that and people tend to drive that section of 120 way fast cause there are so few highway patrol. High tourist traffic usually as well and don't watch for animals or just drift across lanes while not paying attention. Friend from highschool died in a head long on that section from just an old man drifting over.

 

Yeah thats what our realtor was telling us. We havent experienced the speeding as of yet but figured it would happen once more tourists were out and about.

 

Got the new front COs installed today along with new uniballs in the Camburg uppers. With the a freshly rebooted CV, the truck is now ready for some new adventures.

 

Have you peaked at your leaf spring perches lately. Just curious since you have the heaviest truck I know of.





Being able to work remotely would be sweet. Find a great campsite that still has service and get to work. Live on the road 100% of the time.

 

If oil stain is the indicator, so far I am ok.

In the ongoing discussion of the extended travel version of kings, I finally have something to compare to.





The kings are albout 3/4" shorter than ADSs version of extended travel. Kings are ~19 3/8" from the top of the top hat to the center of the lower bolt hole. The ADSs are ~20 1/8".

What did Tim say? I only know that when he rebuilt them the last time, I asked him to verify my Kings were in fact their extended version, he said they met Kings published criteria for extended length. Seems pretty conservative to me. @TMFF

The clickers should be interesting to play with. There are 20 increments to adjust compression.

 

I think its what was designed in the late 90's, maybe, by king and what is a current design by ADS. And as I've said before I believe King was very conservative with their build and isn't going to change what the currently make.

The kings can still be 0.25" longer by pulling the last droop spacer out.

hiked 12 miles yesterday. Wasn't a bad way to spend the saturday.







Spent today in the garage. Painted my spindle and more importantly started building the coil bucket gussets.


I got the front plates done




However, I don't have wide enough steel plate for the rears as I have them..trying to decided if it will make that big a difference or if I should go to Powell and get one of the sheets of steel I have laying around down there.

Free time shouldnt affect the way you build your truck to go where we go, it's gotta be good or it's gonna be a problem. I vote to go to Powell too. I need to make some cardboard mockups of the bucket reinforcements, that way I can flatten them and make drawing for laser cut. I figure more than just myself will want one eventually.

 

I wish I had the ablity to do that. Doing this with a hand grinder took most the damn day haha Plus you could probably make a decent profit from them.
