Dash flickering

Anyone know or have ever experienced the dash of a 3rd Gen toyota tacoma flicker and the car charger flicker once you turn your truck off? If so how did you fix it?

 

First I have heard of it. Still under warranty?

Happened to me, turns out it was my charger causing it to flicker. The techs couldn't figure it out, I Happened to use the charger on my loaner camry and something Happened to the camry

 

how did your charger cause it? Like 12V plug in?

 

Yup it was a 12 volt plug in. No idea how, im just a keyboard engineer so my theory is it was sending egress back out

 

Interesting, thanks for following up, so we know it can happen.
Throw that piece of junk away before it messes something electrical up.

Found out it's the phone shorting out the truck. Very scary

How did you figure that out, try someone else's phone?

That's interesting to hear, I wonder what your carrier would say if it's under warranty still.

 

I turned truck on and turned it off with charger unplugged and obviously nothing because charger was out. Turned truck back on plugged charger in turned off truck and nothing. Turned truck on then plugged phone in and turned truck off then it short circuits. I have a video but not sure if you can post videos on this form. It's very interesting.

I wonder how it reacts to different charger or phone.
I use the much complained about QI and it works fine, albeit slower

 

I'll have to try with another phone but I tried 2 different chargers and same outcome

 

Ahhh you're right, probably phone, man that's strange, makes you realize how sensitive new vehicle electrical systems are

 

Most definitely. I'm just hoping it doesn't completely screw up my truck.
