Fuel tank fell out of the truck...

    Just lost one myself. Tank was hanging but ok. New straps from rock auto and all is well

    Most gas tank skids mount to those straps. At least what I have seen. Mine attaches to the straps as well, RCI skid.

    Quite often actually, but never would’ve thought to check those brackets specifically. I had a recent safety inspection by a mechanic, and they didn’t catch it either.

    New frame and they didn't catch the fact that everything else was rotting? I'd be checking everything else too. CB and DS don't look too healthy.

    easy fix - take those bolts out, and drill up and into the tank, then install so the tank and skid plate stay together if they fall.

    Yeah - I am a bit of a genius....but let me just tell you, every morning i put my pants on two legs at a time, like anyone else.
