I even have dog hair in a car my dogs have literally never been in. All the dog hair in the Tacoma drives me nuts. Vacum it for an hour or two and still cannot even come close to getting it all.

Going to give this a shot.

Thank you Sir. I'm retired so I have lots of time. I've been blessed to have great teachers too. I had to shut up and listen for decades...lmao. And I did. I hope our kids do the same. We need tradesman. Bad...Thanks again.

Was the AC clutch kicking on and off? Turn off the AC and try that again if so. I did not here a thing.

The tube has nothing to do with the air filter, it replaced the plastic accordion tube after the MAF sensor. It is my understanding that it improves air flow which cant be a bad thing.

You said "Would there be any issues eliminating the big black box connected to the OEM intake tube?" What big black box are you talking about?

The one on the tube you can see between the airbox and the engine cover. Just a sound suppressor, I believe. Not there on the 2.7.

Okay, got ya. No idea on that one. As is in my signature, you have to know how something works before you can fix it, or in this case modify it. I have no idea why or how it works. I will tell you that those folks say it will not effect MAF/TPS signals to the ECU. I don't think it will help much. Entire cold air intakes don't provide that much benefit for the money. I'd just change the air filter every other oil change.

Yanked the V6 and both SR5 badges off:

Used some Goo-Gone for the remaining adhesive, wiped down with a wet towel, and dried with another towel. Looks much better. Less busy.

Also.. I was heading home from running a few errands this evening and saw this insanity:

    https://streamable.com/rp73h0

I stuck around and gave my name and number to the guy that got rear ended. Showed an officer the footage on the tiny dash camera screen. The speeding moron tried to flee the scene.. after the cops showed up.. his buddy picked him up and they made it about 50 feet before the cops surrounded them. Nobody was seriously hurt, thank goodness.

That picture makes me cringe. You can take these off easily with fishing line. No chance of scratching the paint. Just slide it behind the emblem and work your way down.

As a 911 dispatcher, you did pretty good on the call. Gave pretty decent details about what you saw and you STAYED on scene to give the officer the video evidence from your camera. This is why I try to keep mine in my truck when I'm out and about: crazy fools and they way they drive. I'm honestly surprised someone wasn't killed in that accident.

My agency just worked a DUI wreck either late Friday night or early Sat morning. Dumb fools were leaving from an American Legions "establishment." Drunk as a skunks and hit a GMC Sierra head on. They drunks were driving a Tacoma (totaled out) and ejected them from the truck. They had pretty severe injuries. The driver of the Sierra is ok. Had some minor injuries (thank God).

I got to work tonight and someone was asking me if one of them passed away from their injuries. I'm not even sure if one did or didn't.

But to anyone who reads this post/reply:

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE (OR INTOXICATED UNDER OTHER SUBSTANCES)!!!!!

I get going out and having a good time. I'm not against it, BUT have a way to get home. Uber and Lyft, friends, relatives, etc.

    There is no excuse. EVER.

    Okay, I'm off my soapbox.

Alright doll-face, c'mon and bore me!
Didn't sound like the compressor clutch. That would be just a click. Sounded more like a solenoid operated (click) air valve (hollow thump)*. Should be pretty easy to locate just by listening carefully. Is this normal? No idea, I've never heard it on mine. Is the truck running poorly? Is the check engine light on? If yes to either, it's probably time to take it to the clinic. If not... Try to locate the source and figure out if, yeah, that should be happening.

    * - edit: I suppose it could be the AC compressor and I'm being misled by the quality of the audio recording. Make sure the AC is off and the heater control isn't set to defrost/defog.
