Yeah it was fine for a couple days. This morning I got back form a 20 mile drive and could smell the fluid. After drying and driving it is clear that I am going to have to go back in.

Had both driver and passenger axle seals leak. Just changed both myself since I was doing maintenance anyway.

Well that sucks for the guys who have leak issues. Seems like the problem is still lingering 3.5 weeks into the GB. Anyone that has taken their truck back due to leakage find out what is causing the leak? Bad or damaged axle seals? My install is this coming Thursday and I'm starting to feel a little anxious about it all.

Yah, I’m not part of the group buy, but have my appointment for gears on Thursday and I’m out.

Before I found this thread I was about to purchase gears myself and I noticed the manufacturer offered polished gears for an extra 250 or 300 bucks and I guess it makes it so you don’t have to do all the Heat cycling.

As this isn’t my daily driver, I don’t put a lot of miles on it so I figured I’d invest in that. Miguel had to order them like that from the manufacturer.

I’ll text Miguel tomorrow, just saw this. If you have feedback/issues, text Miguel directly.

The leak problem is super annoying and I’m upset it keeps happening. At least they replace it at no cost. Only bright side to it.

The overtorquing of diff plugs that people keep messaging me about... I don’t know any shop who uses a torque wrench on bolts like that. Did you properly torque your tophat bolts holding your shock in? If you’re super anal about torque settings then you gotta do that yourself. I did torque everything to spec myself and painted the bolts, but I’m extra since I have the time. I personally was able to get my diff plug off with a 1/2 drive ratchet and effort

I’m at 5,000+ miles, no issues. 700+ on the front.

    I needed a 3 foot breaker bar...for a bolt spec'ed for 36 ft-lbs.

    :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

There’s is not 1 single person that would call me anal but I did break out my torque wrench to torque my top hat bolts.
There’s a difference between being anal and doing a job correctly. It doesn’t matter if you’re washing dishes or installing a drain plug IMHO.

It really is concerning to hear all of these issues. And it sounds like most people have to drive far just to return to fix this problem, which could have been prevented if done right the first time.

I luckily don't have the leaking issues, just the over torque issues

Let us know what he says. As a customer, I'm now having second thoughts about moving forward. Can't afford to be going back and forth to Riverside like that, especially with my road trip 2 weeks away.

Understood. I’m not happy about it happening either. It’s annoying to hear complaints

For those that got the e-locker, did you have to wire it up yourself? If so, what does that look like? Thanks

I wonder the same thing. When I was there Laurence showed up to get his seal fixed. They walked me in the back and pointed out where the seal might leak. They knew I had a 2 plus hour drive so they tried to get the seal to work..

Spoke to Miguel today and he said they are going to stop re-using the axle seals. He did not mention that I needed to bring a new axle seal, but not a bad idea to just bring some OEM seals with you when you go for your re-gear. Still glad I got the re-gear, truck feels great. I know I have been bitching, but I don't think people should back out because of this. Especially if you don't live that far away. I'm going back Friday morning to get the seal replaced.
