Check out Active Self Protection on the Tube. I enjoy his videos. U may even find some info to help u make a decision. I like the way he breaks down videos to point out good and bad habits. Try em out and find what u like and hopefully u never have to use it.

If anyone pays MSRP for any of those pistols...theyre clearly not doing research

I have literally every single one of the described pistols in my store...the PPQ and VP9 are nice but that paddle mag release is stupid and unless you have long gangly fingers...you have to adjust or release grip to drop the mag

I sell 25 Glocks to every HK or Walther and a big part of it is that you can get into a Gen4 19 for 499.99 or a 43x for 448 plus tax whereas Walthers and HKs are running about $100 more depending on actual model

HK has bioluminescent sights as opposed to tritium so big con there IMO

OP, handle a bunch, shoot as many as you can, pick out which one you instinctively shoot the best and call it a day...after awhile add a different one when you figure out what you like and don't like about the one you got

You’re going to get at least 20 million opinions. My opinion is go to a range that’ll let you rent some, borrow some more from friends, and get a feel for what you like. No one can make this decision for you. Keep your requirements in mind when evaluating them. Following this advice will save you money and frustration in the long run.

Oh one more thing. There’s no perfect ccw.

Got two that I carry depending on clothing. Much prefer the HK USP9 over the G26. Thinking the G26 will be replaced with a HK P30sk.

Well, when firearms technology from the late 50’s tried to get me killed it was a 1911A1 that kept me alive. Newer isn’t necessarily better

We are talking about CC, not a war zone. Two entirely different situations that require different tools. Concealing a 1911A1 is not fun or practical.

Glad you made it out alive when many didn’t.

Having actually used a P-35 I can tell you that the 9 mm is not as effective. I was enamored of the capacity. But the effectiveness wasn’t there so I went back.

When folks are shooting there’s no difference between a “civilian” encounter and a “combat” encounter.

Not sure what you're talking about...I gave him my suggestion for a first pistol, the Springfield XD-E. I went into the reasons why I made that recommendation.

The other two pistols were for him since he was considering the Glock 19. They are far better options than a Glock 19 (or any other Glock pistol). You thought the HK and Walther were a lot more expensive than the Glock. I just showed they were competitively priced...well the HK was competitively priced, the Walther was significantly less.

If he wants a "mid-size" striker fired SA pistol, the Walther PPQ if by far the best choice based on performance and price. Guarantee anyone who shoots those three pistols side by side, they will shoot tighter groups with the Walther and/or HK.

    Yeah.
Interesting technique I found on the interwebs was to pick out a point in space, close your eyes, and aim the weapon at that point with your eyes closed. Open your eyes and see how close you are.

I personally don't like the grip on Glocks. I went with a Springfield Armory XD40 Compact, just felt the best.

This^ I have an M&P Shield 9mm. Absolutely love it. I'm a small female, fits in my hands perfectly. Stows in my hip and inside pant holsters perfectly fine even in my tight assed jeans. Had a G23 glock and a SIG 226 40 in the military, hated both. My S&W is lighter (smaller gun so..), cheaper ammo to go play, less recoil, lighter. Anyone saying a 9 wont stop as good as a 40 haven't been shot before, it'll put a hole in ya regardless. Stick some hornadys in it.

Sig P320! Mine came with an RMR and they all have serrations in the slide already. Can also quickly change out the frame to make it compact or full size or change the caliber which other guns can't do
