The one nice thing with the park chain whip is that it matches with the cassette tool perfectly so I don’t need a big wrench or socket when putting the cassette back on.

I agree on the stand but I’d still put it fairly high up on the list. Im more likely to work on my bike if it’s easier to do haha

I need to get one but I just carry a small gerber multitool. Not the best solution but it works

I'd personally rather work on a bike with a multi-tool in a bike stand than with shop tools while the bike is flipped over/leaned against a wall.

GMBN actually did a cool video where they pretty much broke down/built up a whole bike with a multi-tool (it is a pretty hefty multi-tool though). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDwrmVLvOvY

I also just picked up the ratcheting version of these things and really like them. I'm preferring them over a tradition J hex/torx wrench and with the right set of bits I can do almost all of my bike work with them.

Ignoring torque values, you could totally build a bike up with a multitool, and I've all but done so. But as always, having proper tools makes life a million times easier.

For quick stops <10 min a good cable lock should suffice....I’m talking more over night

Of course it does. What I'm saying is, to me, a bike stand is the most important "proper" tool. I've had too many backaches and weird derailleur problems from working on an upside down bike.

Also, on the torque front, I was looking at this thing as well from Fix it Sticks. Seems like it'll hit most of the lower torque values on a bike in a very small and versatile package.

I wish they made one on the bike side of the house in nM increments. But they've been a great tool for my other hobby.

I'd wager it would get most of them. There's a few 8nm bolts and larger, but the small torque ones are where the margin for error really matters.

It'll do all the smaller torque specs no problem. Handlebars, stems, brake/shift/dropper post levers, seat post clamp, etc.
