Cam”s the biggest showboater in the league.
It’ll be interesting to see this pan out. Amazing if they make it to the playoffs.

Hope there are plenty of Goodwill stores so Cam will have somewhere to buy his " shabby chic" wardrobe.

I’m interested to see how Cam does in New England. Here in Carolina he ran the gamut from league MVP to average and constantly injured.

People always fell into two camps. Cam sucks and cares more about his image than the game or Cam is God’s gift to football and he’s being held back by inferior talent and coaching. There wasn’t much in between.

His time in New England should squash that debate.

there could have been a much more controversial choice than cam newton...
hopefully it goes well for him and the pats
however very surprised the pats went with someone in their 30s and not someone younger in their 20s
that kinda makes me feel confident that brady really left on his own first and foremost and not a team decision

lol at cam newton and goodwill stores, the guy has a net worth of like 45 million... haters always gonna hate :goingcrazy:

Cam Newton upon hearing his $35K outfit was available for $6 at Goodwill:

I wasn’t one to think he spent more time worried about fashion than game prep. That said, there were a few post-game pressers where I found myself thinking “FFS Cam, I gotta hear shit from a bunch of Steelers fans at the office tomorrow about how you raided Aunt Medea’s closet.”

Dude, the Pat’s aren’t gonna hang onto Cam long term hence the 1 year, unless he can prove himself. You really think a lot of teams were considering Brady, that’s why he chose Tampa Bay? Lol. He wanted a long contract with the patties and couldn’t get one.

i understand it is a one year contract, but still just overall surprised, pretty sure not many had seen this one coming either way...

i know brady given his age was not the most desirable, but I sure dont think he just chose tampa as a "dang this is the only team willing to sign me" either...

I also am not convinced it was a matter of contract length that lead him to walk away from new england, I would guess it was more about the zeros behind the digits and a decimal point offering...

Ya’ll acting like he’s gonna be the starter.

I wouldn’t be too sure about that. Foot still isn’t healed. Current skills haven’t been assessed. Wouldn’t surprise me if BB is doing this as motivational for Stidham.

It is surprising BB would choose Cam if only for his narcissism and need for attention. Not the Patriots way.

But then again, I hear the contract is heavy on the incentives so if he doesn’t produce, the only pressers he’s gonna be doing are by his locker or on the way to his car.

Y'all acting like there's going to be a season.

My money is on a year-long COVID hiatus, in which everyone heals and comes back strong to 2021. They'll hem and haw about it, but eventually realize that they're just spreading infections among players and the union will call for a stop.

IF Cam’s healthy he’ll beat out Stidham, I have no doubts about that.

Narcissism and need for attention? Brady, Gronk, Randy Moss, AB...Patriots kinda got a history of showboating, arrogant bastards starting on their team.

Even if he’s healthy I don’t see how he can finish a season if he continues to play the style of football he played in Carolina. That shit worked in his 20’s, he’s no spring chicken anymore. I don't care what kind of shape he’s in, he’s been beat to hell for years and it shows.

COVID’s not going away so I don’t understand asking some of the healthiest men on the planet to hide from it rather than play.

They should take every precaution they can and make a strict regimen to follow, allow players/coaches/personnel that don’t feel comfortable to opt out and move on with life.

By all estimates there won’t be a vaccine for at least 18 months so if the 2020 season is cancelled due to fear of players contracting and spreading it then the 2021 season will likely be scrapped as well.
