All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Question for you guys and gals. So I have to cut my Prinsu Rack on my Taco, in order for the GFC Camper to go on.

Can’t take the rack off due to a welded button in the cab breaking loose during install. So the rack has to stay unless I wanna get into the headliner.

Anyways. Let me know your thoughts.

You didn’t give me your opinion between the two options I gave above.
But yes I love using the body saw ;)

    My bad.
Option 2 looks better to me. No awkward empty space. Your mentioning of the weld button dohikey made me assume all the prinsu mounting points would have to stay.

So yea, option 2 looks better to me as long as there are no clearance issues with the GFC. Although option 1 will easier to execute if the rear most prinsu mounts can be removed...

That’s exactly what I wanted to hear.
The front Driver is the nut that’s spinning.

FYI - to all those who are missing one bolt for their Prinsu, DO NOT use a slightly longer bolt just cause you have one lying around. The tolerance in the roof ain’t playing, so use exactly the length of bolt they ask for.
Mine was not even 1/4” longer and it bottomed out, causing weld but to break free on the last turn I put on the wrench.

So are you debating between cutting on vs off the truck or cutting on the truck vs removing it completely?

It’s staying on, the pain in the ass it would be to remove it and all the wiring associated isn’t worth it to me.
I will clamp a piece of hard steel up against it as a guide for the body saw.

Yea didn’t think about all of the wiring. I would probably go that route too.

I vote option 2. that option looks as if you ever remover the camper, then you might be able to salvage the cut rack and be able to modify slightly more to add bars back in. (I hope that makes sense)

My old man just got a new to him Ridgeline. Yup, laugh away ladies. Not starting any debates here, but Honda engineering + open bed + AWD is honestly pretty BA for most people. This is my dads second one and I can promise you he puts his rigs through more shit than a lot of TW folk ever will.

The 3” lift helps the aesthetics a little. The wheels honestly look better in person.

If you’re looking for someone local to the area I’ll ask my folks for recommendations.

Didn’t Zach (@17tacostormtrooper) get into grading and building? That’d be a trek for him and he’s equipment, but I suppose you could ask.

Oh. Well damn. I was gonna be calling him soon for a similar request at my new place.

I’ll ask my folks who they know that does grading. They’re in Clayton, so a little north of Toccoa but still local-ish.

    Looks nekkid.

Someone a while back had a switch bracket that they put over the OEM one that could toggle the camera anytime. Might be different on 3rd gen, but I'm too lazy to search for it. It can be done and is simple as adding another ground, I think.

I did that exact same thing a while back. I remember seeing a couple of could be decent camp spots along the way and a TON of trash right close to the main road.

You should be good on just about any of the FSR.

    Another vote for option 2.
