Got it! That makes perfect sense! I didn't think the B110's where that much longer to the point they would bottom out over speed bumps. Thank you for that info!

Looks clean. Nice job. Can you share how you modified the stock bump? I may go this route my self.

    Thanks, and sure thing.

The flip plate has 2 threaded holes where the bump bolts to. So I measured, then drilled 2 holes in each bump.

Then you have to trim the sides to accommodate the new U-bolts. This part I had to rush it was getting dark. Good thing they aren't noticeable installed. 1/4 inch angle grinder, dremel, etc for this part.

Superbump and OEM side by side.

For those who replace the 6112 coils, did you replace the upper top hat and bushings, and if yes, where did you buy them from?

6112’s ride so smooth on the street whoops, lol. I’m blown away by the front suspension in my truck now. The 5160’s are honestly just okay and it could have to do with me still using the stock leaf springs. These struts and shocks do control my heavy ass tires so much better than stock though. Installed them 2/1 to start. I’ll raise them if I feel the need but with 255’s, it sits high enough for me at the moment. I do load it up with some weight for camping too so not trying to look at the sky when I drive. Overall I’m VERY happy with the results. Going to let the springs settle for about a week and then take it in for an alignment. Thank you @HeadStrong Off-Road for the quick shipping. 4 hours in 110 degree heat in a car port with hand tools and no spring compressor. Worth it.

@Superdave1.0 thanks for the lead on top hats.
How are the 650# working for you? Any regrets with the 650# instead of the 700# ?

@Maxx , congrats on the successful install!
Looks like you 6112 were shipped without the top hats, Out of curiosity, how did you get the top hat and upper bushings installed without a spring compressor?

I’m running the 650s and pretty happy so far. It’s sitting pretty much dead nuts level @ 6/5. It’s a little stiff but I’m still waiting on my front bumper. Should be perfect

650# with bumper/winch/sliders/skid plate is amazing. I think 700# would be too stiff for my set up. Not 100% sure but I don't think Bilstein recommends 700# with 6112.

I heard the same, Bilstein does not recommend a 700# spring, so wanted to know how the 650# work with a steel bumper and winch. Glad it works for you, swapping out coils will be a lot less expensive then going to a different coilover strut designed for 700# coils.

Just Google “Tacoma Suspension No Spring Compressor” and you’ll find tons of videos about how to do it. You essentially use the weight of truck and a floor jack on the lower control arm to decompress and compress the spring. It’s faster and easier in my opinion. I know some will say it’s unsafe but with the strut and upper control in place, it’s impossible for the spring to come out and injure you. I used the same method on my old ‘13 too with an Old Man Emu kit.

Are UCAs still recommended if I am only going for a 1" lift? Will the alignment shop still be able to do its work perfectly if I skip the UCAs?

Just pulled the trigger on some 6112's for my 2015. FYI if anyone is looking for a screaming deal, checkout RockAuto! Using the tacomaworld 5% discount code found in the "Official Vendors" page they ended being $602.xx shipped! I'm a sucker for a deal and this is by far the cheapest I have found them!

Don't need UCA for 1 inch lift. My 2.5 inch lift aligns great stock UCA. They are nice to have, but not necessary.

Well, just ordered the 6112's/5160's kit from @HeadStrong Off-Road - Doing the setting at 5/6 and 650lb coils. We'll see how it does. Will be adding sliders and skids, front bumper and winch.

I'm torn on the superbump bump stops, but I kinda want to do a u-bolt flip kit.

I have the wheelers offroad u bolt flip kit with the timbren bump stops and I love them. Superbumps are great as well, I just went with the timbrens because I have had experience with them in the past.

It'll be a little stout. I'm running a bigger battery, winch, and usoffroad bumper insert on 650s and its just right at about 200lbs over stock.
