Where are you guys sticking your toll road transponders?
I remember seeing a thread about this ~a year ago, right before I bought my truck.

I've sold my other vehicle and finally gotten around to mounting the transponder in the Tacoma, but I don't want it to interfere with anything I have up front.

I think I'm going to put it in between the front-facing sensor and my dash cam (pictured) assuming that's correct.

    I appreciate your input!20200629_155907.jpg

Keep it in center console. Throw it on dash when using toll roads

I got the one that attaches to your front license plate and used vhb tape to stick it behind the grill. may or may not be available in your state.

I have mine mounted to the right side of the rear view mirror. It's away from the antenna for my remote start and whatever electronics are in the area in front of the rear view mirror.

Cover it with black tape and put it on the BACK of the mirror not on the glass... i don't even see it. and you don't have the white transponder showing on the glass.

Took it off my Tundra. Never liked it on the windshield. I had a spare garage door opener clip. Glued that to the transponder and put it on the visor. I just flip the visor down when I use toll roads.

I appreciate all the suggestions, guys!
I think this is the way I'm going to go. I live far enough away from most tolls that I just forget to put it on the dash, but I do want it mounted in the windshield...but not in my line of sight. To the right of the rearview mirror (when sitting in the driver's seat) seems like a win!

If it helps reinforce your direction, that's where I mounted mine. I do think I might plastidip it black though after hearing about the black tape idea from @jerkwithkeyboard - it would likely work great!

I put my Ipass on the dash with a dimesized blob of silicone. Just to keep it from moving around.
20 years ago you HAD to put it on your windshield left of mirror...these days the recievers pick things up so easily you can put them almost anywhere you want.

How hidden is it where you have It mounted? Any issues with it working from there?

Be careful, I recently heard from the folks that run the local system that the CHP is actually looking for the transponder. If it's not where it's supposed to be they could pull you over. But in all honesty I doubt the guy on the bikes will give a darn.

you now have 5 days to pay the toll online before incurring any fines. I haven’t seen a single chp vehicle on the toll road since.

That’s what I do. Sometimes it even works while it’s still sitting in the center console.

always wanted to do that, as petty as it seems, I hate seeing it through the front window. Do you think it will have any issue sending the signal out being covered with dip or tape?
