Just gotta point out that with beer - since you don't drink ALL of it at one time - you can put a 6 pack in and replace them as you drink in order to replenish. It is a refrigerator after all... :)

good thinking. That is what I was going to suggest. I like to keep them all in as I can but for space saving given its recently purchased brews add a few in as needed.

You’re not wrong. But when off grid these fridges have a tendency to jump around in temp if you put something in a higher temp than the rest. Now if I take one out I put another in that would work.
What I’ll be doing with this new one is dedicated fridge side for food, dedicated ice cream and beer side.

yah its all relative to how much is going in and out. As much as I did not want to if there was a bunch of "beverages" then a cooler comes with me but I try to keep it to just the fridge. Been solo most of the time so it works but JR is getting older and soon will be joining

thats exactly why I want a dual zone / dual door fridge but I don't need to spend money on a new fridge when my 52qt truck fridge is working fine.

Installed mine this morning. Working on getting the temperature settings where I want them. I want the left compartment as a freezer and right as a fridge.

FYI, I've been running this setup since my 52-quart CSI.

The W55 84-quart is really proactive on battery protection (or it's my specific wiring setup), so that's been causing me temperature stability issues.

I'm running a Northstar AGM 24F with no other charging system mods. I have all my accessories running through a Blue Sea fuse panel, 100A circuit breaker and to a 12v outlet in the bed.

Battery voltage is 12.58 (under draw and checked with multimeter), bed outlet is showing 10.8v (via included guage) while the app shows 9.8v. I've set battery protection to "Low" and compressor to "Eco" and it's now hitting ideal temperatures. I'm keeping the truck connected to a Battery Tender Jr. while I experiment with the fridge settings.

    Screenshot_20200629-152526_CSI Black Ice Fridge Freezer.jpg

So far, it's been fun messing with stuff. :bananadead:

ETA: a little over an hour later, I'm getting good numbers as things stabilize. I think this fridge goes hard in the paint and then tests itself after that to determine how it needs to apply itself. Everything is still going good, but expect an hour or two before everything is balanced.

    Are you running 110v power?

Mine was showing 14v+ on 110v.

(It is fun playing with these lol)

Yeah putting it in the truck now to see how it does draining battery on the stock battery while I’m at work, first I’ll see how it drains maintaining the freezer temp then both as a fridge.

Mine seems to drain it pretty quickly, but there's also a lot of differential in the app with supplied/ available voltage. I'm maintaining with a trickle charger and a multimeter and I'm gonna keep messing with it.

If you got a third gen looks like it can fit underneath the bed cover, with a slide however is another question but I may put it here because it’s a behemoth in the back seats lol, gonna have to take out the seats for long trips

I don’t have a hot constant 12v plug. I bought 16’ of marine grade dual wire 8ga , 4 smash on 8ga lugs, 50 amp breaker and some male and female 10ga connectors(they worked fine on the 8ga) I cut my 12v plug off like a savage and quick connected it to the 8ga then ran it to the breaker and battery. Haven’t had any problems with it kicking off since. I’m going to get blue sea 12v usb set up later because they are on back order. I cut my plug off about a foot from the cigarette end. It long enough I can take it out of the back of the truck and put it on the ground. I do wish I bought 18’ of 8ga it’s gonna work for where I want my 12v plug but there’s not a lot of extra to play with, it barley reaches the big box in the back on the right side.
