I am able to connect my headunit and the CarAVAssit app. However, I can not for the life of me change my background picture. I have searched my library for the picture I want to set as my background and I hit apply but nothing happen? How do I go about changing the background? What am I doing wrong?

Sorry if this has been answered already, but do you still get any readout (music titles, etc.) in the dash center console when using the head unit?

You should still get readout in the center console, you can also change the source using right center button on steering wheel control.

Ok do u have the avassist app on your phone? If u do go to background custom settings. Select your pictures for each item. Then in the stereo select the av app and once connected you will get a screen that shows from phone to radio or radio to phone. Push on the phone to radio. This will upload the settings and pictures you have applied from the app. Wait for it to say complete. If it does not show your background pics right away power it off and back on. Should be there now

If you end up installing this and confirm that it's working correctly, would you mind adding some deets inside the info thread?

Yes, the dash center console will still read your music titles out.

Do anyone else have an issue with the head unit slightly slanting down towards the driver side instead of being straight. Also, do anyone else have their head unit comes out of the bezel more on the driver side then on the passenger side?

I like it so far but I really have not had a chance to really enjoy it. I haven't been out of the house lately so I haven't been driving that much. Hopefully I can mess with it some more.

You are going to have to adjust the mounting holes in your bracket to allow it to sit flush with the dash bezel.

I used the American International TOYK974 Dash Kit from Crutchfield and its is perfectly level but does protrude out just a little. I attempted to modify the OEM factory brackets but that was a mess. I settled on perfectly level and uniform all the way around.

That's the kit I used. But it didn't turn out level for me.

Take the radio out and see if you can secure the slanted bracket to have it sit more level. You may need to push and lift the unit while screwing it, making micro adjustments to have it sit well. It took me a few tries to have it sit pretty straight.

I tried that today too. I'll probably look for a soft spacer to put under the driver side lower mounting arm and see if that will lift it up just a bit to lower it out.
